There are a few more than 2 ffxiv apps for android, ranging from messeger, to eorzea clock and server status.
There is also an FFXIV guide one which had recipie information, abilities etc. however it hasnt been updated since about Jan, so it is all but worthless right now.

SE need to pull that stick out of their ass, they need to take a "good" look at what other MMO's are adding in terms of user accessibility and ease of use.
Not necessarily copy them but at least make an effort to add similar functionality.
Being able to access and set up my retainer would be a nice feature.
considering its free, i wouldn't expect it to be awesome. app devs have lives too.
If all you want to do is check levels and online status, they should just make a mobile version of the Lodestone website.
As for recipes, the Android one is superb![]()

Triple Triad or Tetra Master on mobile devices. Link rewards to FF XIV accounts. This would be fantastic.

I like this better than the authenticator, they can probably make this more secure too.

A type of xiv app would be awesome! ( although I do not own a phone that even supports the usage of fancy apps.. ;A; ) but it would be pretty cool. I am sure of course they would not be able to put real gameplay on the app, but things like being able to check up items on the wards, send messages to people on your friends list and ls mates, chat, etc. etc. would be nice. Sort of like a combination of ffxi AH and playonline but, you know, for XIV

Heya!
You know what would be great? Having a One-time Activation code generator included in an ipothetical FFXIV application.
That would solve problems like "I forgot/lost/destroyed/ate the token!". That came out of my mind when I thought about the Blizzard Authenticator. What do you think?
See ya!

This. I got my authenticator with my FFXIV preorder, but I know I'm gonna lose that thing one of these days. I actually had a cousin who wanted to see and was thinking of starting FFXIV when I was up in Massachusetts for New Year's, but I couldn't show her because I left my authenticator at home. Meanwhile, I was playing WoW with my cousins half the time I was there because I had my authenticator for that on my phone.Heya!

I could definitely go for a retainer/AH manager app, something simple but useful for when I can't get to my computer. A way to chat with people ingame would be awesome though, I can't think of a single MMO that has something like that, so this would be a nice thing to pioneer.

Actually, there are currently 6 FFXIV apps available on iTunes, ranging from clocks to a crafter's book, to a messaging app.
