I don't think worrying about RMT and complaining about it will do much difference as you see above, as Rukkirii already replied with what you can call "internal awareness".

RMT can be compared to/and be equivalent to exploiting a market and piracy. Piracy in regards to "virtual property" and profiting from it as if was your own. This is against the ToS and a corporate offense giving SE the rights to lay the Ban-Hammer.

RMT is a verb of all means to trade real currency for virtual services and in-game items. As in FFxi I see SE will have to take action against these RMT business people who willfully exploit these opportunities for profit and soon FFxiv will be free of these "Gillsellers".

The most effective way to take action against these "gillsellers" is to also report website across the web. That's the main reason why SE is considering taking away free trials. or reducing the time length. (correct me if I'm wrong but I hope it reduced to seven days)

Disclosure: This isn't influencing people to link themselves with RMT and paying for their services. It's to bring awareness that they exist and it's as easy as googleing "buy ffxiv gold".

Example: Report- "This URL= <insert RMT website> which I like to report, sell in-game property for real life money. They make it a business off of a product that doesn't belong to them."

@SE community Reps: Which are other more effective ways to report RMT in-game and on the Web? (if any)

"Gill-farmers" as you can call them work for the RMT "Gill-sellers" and are employed as "Cheap-Laborers" which is a real shame really and I feel real bad for them to be working for only a bowl of rice.
That's not even enough for workers to progress in the working force and seems to be out of desperation and a terrible economy, oppression and bed government. Westerners have much of the blame for this as well, due to the fact that corporates here find it economic to employ cheap labor for everything else and most of it is from China. So I wouldn't be all that pissed at farmer or SE.

There has to be initiative somewhere else to hit the root of the problem if we want to reduce RMT in Final Fantasy XIV (or XI).

As be aware that most farmers belong to actual players with 3rd party tools. If you see 'them', they probably have signature names. I don't bot myself, and I don't condone BOTing because it's compromising. I'm not really clear on what SE thinks of 3rd party tools like this. Can someone bring this to light and clear it up? Thanks
