So, it's official. Video games are art. That means we can all stop telling Square-Enix how to make their game, because they're the artist, we're the viewer. Let the muse do their work.

You can tell them how you want them to make it. Just like in commissioned art you ask for something particular. They dont have to listen to you of course, but just because something is art doesnt mean they are exempt from hearing feedback.

Is it just me or did the dragoon armor / weapon look rounder and perhaps a little mickimouse -ish in 2.0?

But I love the new terrain, they added a lot more character to it. Unfortunately i think it will be harder on some peoples systems - hopefully their engine is as they say and doesnt hurt those players who were already struggling with 1.0.

Yes, and the phrase "too many cooks spoil the broth" comes to mind. Every single person here has a different vision of what would make Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn into the perfect game, but every single one of those ideas will contradict the idea of someone else, therefore, our opinion is useless.

Our feedback, on the other hand, is a little more helpful. If Square-Enix is like "Oh, check out this new thing we're making!" and everybody unanimously hates it, they'll be like "Nevermind!" We can provide helpful information to better finalize what they want in the game.

I hope that they have paid someone to read and summarize forum activity (a lot of companies do this) - I know they read Japanese side personally but obviously they need help to translate other languages (and this adds extra cooks as the ideas could easily be scewed if the translators have a personal agenda/opinion of the game).

So yeah.. we have a lot of communication interference.

Make me wonder is Rokien the greatest troll ever to grace the FFXIV forums (he has the ability to get 100+ replies in every topic he posts) or does he truly believe the stuff he posts.
