Basically, newly launched MMOs tend to die out very quick in this day and age usually because "it's not WoW!!!1", and many that stick around loses a good majority of it's playerbase within a year of launch. Relaunched MMOs also rarely survive or pull in enough interest that the company sells it off or closes it's doors on it shortly aftfer.

GW2 for example is starting to bleed but it's still popular due to it being a new MMO, the real test is 3-4 months after release for a new/relaunched MMO.
I guess this is the case where it is a good thing SE is stubborn.
