    I'm not sure what's wrong with the Picture above.... but I can tell you that the Area "Does" look unique compared to all the zones put together in FFXIV 1.0. Weather the Graphics is good for one person or not, just by looking at that picture I can see these three views: Unique, Good placement, Aetheryte looks better than the first.

    Look at gw2, the areas are well crafted, though, not very nice to look at because the graphics suck.

    Only thing good in gw2 is their water reflection.

    I looked at it plenty of times, and the graphics do suck there, but comparing GW2 Graphics to FFXIV:ARR pre-alpha, there's really nothing to compare, FFXIV 2.0 in its current state is above GW2 imho.

    well lets compare.

    better partical effects
    lightning effects in agnis philosophy (luminous engine) tech demo:


    FFXIV ARR using the same partical effects (Luminous engine):


    these lightning effects do look a lot better in ARR than we have it now. thundara looks just like a flat 2D texture in the current version (in my opinion)


    and look at these shadowing of the character and environment.. it seems to be more plastic (?) (sorry we in german would say plastisch (not in the sense of Plastik the noun i cant find a word to fit the impression)



    the shadowing in ARR is much more extremely.

    after getting used to it i really like the new graphics engine (art style). i know what you mean, first i was sceptical.. but now.. it seems more "lively" and next gen to me.

    i think many people in here will be surprised how the new engine will look in live action in front of them. at least i hope so.

    Not a huge fan of that fake looking gold / yellow color on the ather rings. And of course the characters are always extremely metrosexual but thats a SE thing :P.

    Hopefully they will add more Auron* looks to their repertoire. *one of the only manly characters I can think of from SE lol. Galka's are man yes, but thats a whole race distinction. Like my guy I tried to make like a "guy" even giving him a beard but there was no option to give him actual eyebrows.. he has like pencil line faded eyebrows haha.

    Love that last screenshot a lot Tonkra.
