I'll never understand the point to arbitrarily waiting for something that's complete.

Well, in this games case, they should hold on to stuff for longer, because something that's meant to show off the game turns into the most ridiculous nit-picking.

If you see a movie trailer that doesn't appeal to you, you just don't see the movie. With this, you apparently stick around even though you hate it.

I never said the lighting wasn't good, it's really good, I'm talking about the textures themselves. They have a Ken doll look to em.

That mostly has to do with the shaders they use and how the light reacts with them.
