There's no reason to show the PS3 version. And if it was, that's really something you should label, so as not to get people into thinking that's the best the game can do.

and why exactly is there no reason to show the ps3 version... you know console gamers far outweigh pc right?

Because there's virtually no point to showing them. It's the same game, but visually inferior. Why would you show off the visually inferior version in a trailer, something that hinges on providing visual information?
That's what I want to know.
It's best to know what the PS3 Users will be buying in terms of Quality. Quality will be different from PC to PS3.

What sort of multiplatform advertisement uses the weakest system to show off their game?
And is that why they didn't label it as the PS3 version? And if the PS3 version is so drastically early in development that they're experiencing heavy framerate, why make a shoddy trailer at all? Where the issues so bad that you had to include them to make a full trailer? Where there no other options?
Not that it's an excuse, but isn't TGS the last "game related" convention until next year? What sort of multiplatform advertisement uses the weakest system to show off their game?

- They were showing an early alpha version at Gamescom that they outright indicated, multiple times, was only alpha. They're clearly not shy about acknowledging that. What sort of multiplatform advertisement uses the weakest system to show off their game?

- They came right out and said at the "Special Talk" that they were not happy with the state of the game and would have preferred not to show it 'til it was more polished. They explained that they showed it because people (as in, folks like us) were becoming more and more vocal about wanting to see something in-game. Again, clearly not shy about acknowledging that.
- People have been wanting to see the PS3 version, as nothing has really been shown of that version at all to date.
- They noted that this convention would be where they covered the PS3 version of the game and, hence, it would make sense to show a PS3-rendered version of a trailer when the PS3 version of the game is the main focus.
- We've seen footage and still-shots of the PC version several times now. It's been consistently of the same quality. Suddenly they release footage of clearly lower quality than what we've been seeing. We know the PC version can do better than that, so would it make sense for them to deliberately tune down the settings? No. So why else would they use lower-quality footage? Oh yeah. The whole PS3 thing.... 2+2.
All the signs and indications are there, Gramul - and I know you've been around and present through all of it, so it's not like you can plead ignorance.
You seem to be deliberately ignoring everything we know and have seen about the game to date, just for the sake of trying to make it seem like some kind of scandal.. that "SE's holding out something on us".
There's no mystery here, except the one you seem to be trying to conjure up in your head.

Entitled.
Entitled?
You. Think I'm entitled?
What a tragic notion.
What a lowly concept.
How weAk.
God forbid I bring critique. God forbid I point out problems. God forbid I try to help Square from making the same mistakes again.
Are they really that untouchable to you? Can they really not be shown their error? Is it that you fear to offend them? Are you afraid they'll just give up? Afraid they'll take the game from you? Don't want to hurt the feelings of the people we gave 2 years of time, money, and support to keep the project alive till it meets satisfaction?
Square releases a low quality trailer and pointing it that it's a bad decision makes me entitled? No. No it does not.
You know, this is actually a fairly good point. They have to release something at the show, being the last one before release, so they hastily scrap together a mundane trailer before the game is properly polished just to show progress for the TGS attendees. Not being one to hide such media, they release it for public viewing, and the game looks not so grand.
Honestly, this could all be avoided if they waited till it was ready to release it.
