Thing is, it looks just like the pc version.... soooo yaaa... take that what it's worth.I was starting to doubt ffxiv for a second or two I was wondering how is it possible that it can go from really nice graphics in the other videos to bland and almost no texture detail. Then I read the post about it being played on ps3, thank goodness.
Me and my computer were starting to sweat, well I guess I won't be buying the ps3 version not like I was going to anyway last thing I need is one more account I already have two.

Gotta disagree with you there, Rokien.
Go back and look at the earlier screenshots they've released from the game. Those were from PC and they are far more vibrant looking, with smoother lighting and more detail apparent in the shots. There's a clear difference between them.
The difference is drastic enough that as soon as I saw the new video, my first thought was "what did they do to the graphics? Why is the lighting so harsh?". It's not even a subtle difference.
FPSs are also generally confined on a map by map basis very seldom with a consistent world. Everything is prerendered and scripted on that map.
MMOs however, takes much more memory in the long run due to it's persistent world and needing to render more things at a time. You don't have NPCs in FPS matches for example, nor do you have constant events happening that isn't scripted into the maps background, for example planes flying overhead etc.
So while both are online games, MMOs are a different beast.

A lot of those considerations are server side. Most FPS load more physical entities then MMOs (models) - though only from 4 ~ 64 of them are moving. In MMO's the average is higher but usually not often do you see more then 20-30 on your screen at once.FPSs are also generally confined on a map by map basis very seldom with a consistent world. FFXIV 2.0 will be confined on a map by map basis as well.
And because its persistent doesnt mean much for the client, because it lasts longer doesnt add more memory - you arent changing the environment or something like minecraft , you come you leave nothing really changed lol.

im wondering if the final version can handle mass pvp battles.

that's why i'm whining about PS3 ... It's not only a graphics issue,
but for example if they want to add let's say a 100 vs 100 pvp mode, they can't.
Or cover the ground with a lot of grass (look black desert trailer) Just because Ps3 can't handle that.
Returning IT, let's suppose that the crappy trailer is from PS3 vers. ,
It's still inadmissible that a major SH about to relaunching their most ambitious project,
release such a poor trailer.. Crappy frame rate, very bad camera angle, same old footage (i can do better with fraps...)
I really can't understand how they could release a trailer like this... :/

bla bla bla. The only other mmorpg playing on ps3 is dc universe, and graphics it's way more shitty of this. I can't honestly believe people get upset because ARR have a dumbed down graphic. It's a mmorpg on a shitty console, and it still loog quite good for all the memory problem it have

That's happen when you can concentrate only on PC. (rotfl at yoshi p. when he stated that ARR will have the best graphics in an mmo). And yes, i'm 1000% sure that PS3 will limit what they can develop on PC.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNtB5...layer_embedded

An you'd be 100% incorrect, because there's games with better graphics that's crossplatform. Stop whining about the PS3.
