Ok Gil question from live letter

Ok so i know there are 2 translation from the letter one from the official GM of this forum and a random person that translated it. The random person state that yoshi said he will be taking 1 digit of gil meaning if you have 1000 you will have 100 in 2.0 56mil to 5.6mil etc. But in the translated question that was made by the GM in the forum he only has the question that hes taking out 1 digit from the cap only?

So my question is are people with only CAP gil is affected or everyone will loose 1 digit?.

Stop. Take a breath. What do you think is logically going to happen to ensure the majority of the players who aren't gillionaires remain happy?

    There. Problem solved.

from the translations that have been done since the game released i'll stand by rein's over the reps. he has been wrong less frequently by a wideeeeee margin.

Taking away one digit from the CAP doesn't change much about the economy, so you just have to think logically about it in the face of two different accounts. I think it makes more sense that they would take away 1 digit from everything.. not to mention if you read the translation from Rein, you can see the article isn't just making one tiny mention of it that he could have mistranslated, the entire thing is almost solely about the balancing of money in the FFXIV 2.0 economy.

Edit: That isn't to say they won't be ALSO moving the cap down, just for the record. I'd assume both are in fact correct.

No leeching, No PL'ing, just 100% playing the game.

If they going to reduce NPC's Buying/selling rate is more logical to think that they going to reduce all economy too. Otherwise they would be giving us x10 into economy power.

agree here. i'm also with you in thinking that after the reduction the max will be taken down a digit

Everyone. It would be unfair anyway.

    EX:
If you now have 98M and you won't lose a digit, in ARR you will be almost capped. It won't be nice for people with 100M+ (people playing from day-one for example :||)

The cap is being cut to 1/10th of its original value. Your gil is being cut to 1/10th of its original value. NPC buy and sell prices are being cut to 1/10th of their original value (though stuff less than 10 gil will just be worth 1 presumably, so those items will actually increase in overall value). Gil recieved will be cut to 1/10th of its original value, thus player prices should also drop porportionately. Thus, there isn't any true loss to anyone. They're scaling everything down porporitonally.

Incorrect. All gil values, including your current gil and everything else I listed above, are being scaled proportionally. This was established in Q and A in the Japanese forum (I don't have the translation link at this moment but im sure someone will post it)

Either way this will be the first time Yoshida has gone back on a promise he made to us. He has stated on a number of occasions that we will not lose anything we have earned during the changeover to ARR. I have been an active player since the Sept. 2010 launch. While I was never in it to make scads of Gil and I didn't I do not like the idea of losing what I did earn. My purchasing power and earning power will drop dramatically if I go from 53Mil to 5.3 Mil. Despite what alterations they make to NPCs a Free Market will eventually make most things unafordable to me. I am assuming that this is to accomandate the new subscribers entering the game as well as to combat the RMTs who made tons of Gil unopposed by SE in Ver 1.0. This is going about it the wrong way. New subscribers will have Worlds created for them and have the option to go there. As far as RMTs are concerned a dedicated Special Task Force can handle that just like trhey did in FFXI. So til I hear more details about how they plan to implement their new economic system I believe that this is a bad idea. Strictly my opinion.

If they mess with my gil I am out. I worked hard for it and spent a lot of free time earning it fair and square. I don't mind the whole cap being at 100m, okay fine. Or..if my gil holds the same value it currently does, that is fine with me also.
