This was the actual image I wanted to post, it gives you a better idea of the size and shape.
The unit has head orientation and position tracking with unprecedented low latency. I am very interested in what it would be like to play "disembodied" using a VR headset. What I mean is, I am not really interested in play an MMO in the first person, since I do not want to be a character that does spins and backflips, but I want to watch a cool character that does so, but also happens to be me. In a way, I want the user's viewpoint in VR to be the same as it has always been, as a floating camera. However, it would be 3D and completely surround the user.
One thing I'm wondering is if the player will feel full sized or if you'd feel like you were looking at an expansive miniature diorama where your desk should be. Would it be OK to have the same "camera" controls when *you* now feel like you *are* the camera. If that doesn't work then what would be the ideal way to control your perspective?
I shouldn't think too hard about this now since it is making me very impatient for March when the kits start shipping.
Full Dive VR sound fun, but Occulus Rift is seems more towards .hack// :P either way both are good! >![]()
FFXIV: ARR compatible with the oculus rift, could be a really nice move for both players and marketing.. Bring it on![]()
did anyone parent tell them not to sit to close to the TV...it'll blind your eye
i like tech just like the next man but this is going to be bad for my eyes
The Devs already said they would not be supporting 3D in ARR so that kills Occulus Rift right away.
Might not work with FFXIV but would be cool project to put into FF series for sure, who wouldn't love to be in real Final Fantasy world?
One thing that came to my mind when watching the vids... Sword Art Online & Nerve Gear lol
that is awesome!
