FFXIV ARR + Oculus Rift

Hi everyone ~ good evening .

I'm not sure if this was brought up before on this part of forums or not but i wanted to share it with you here to see your opinions about it .

Is there any possibility for Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn to work with Oculus Rift in the future?

I'd say it's too much work for too little gain. Maybe in a few years, but right now I'd rather just have a good game. Gimmicks can wait.

Oh good...virtual reality to look at the awful running animations and terrible grass!

I can honestly only see those being cool for First Person games. Looking around in a Third Person game would just seem weird...like I was playing on a gigantic TV, instead of it being a part of gameplay.

For third person games like how, I assume, most people play MMOs, I don't think it'd be too game changing. I think its more designed for first-person shooter type of games (with the current way games are designed). Maybe in the future, when it gets mainstreamed into every gamers home, RPG games will be designed with a first person point of view in mind so people can actually benefit from a more heads-up-display type of interface.

It is awfully exciting though, I look forward to trying out some of the games it is compatible with.

Well, FFXIV does have first person camera.

the oculus rift is for FP games it wouldn't fit well to FF 14 , and even in FP games i'm not sure it would be worth the price .

maybe when the wii-4 comes out this might be something people could afford so i dont see it happening for FFXIV.
