Hey everyone, Yyg here!
I and my fellow members of The Dreams In Vanadiel Forums who have started to play FFXIV have also decided that this server merge was the best opportunity for us all to unite on one server.
Unfortunately, as you all know... when they first opened up for mergers, they were all full damn near instantly. That being the case, many of us were not able to make it onto the one we had chosen as a group.
After much discussion, we agreed to all move to Ragnarok because of the fact that it was the only one that was wide open.
Given that it was made as a suggested location for primarily French and German speaking players, we made our decision skeptically. Ultimately... the deciding factor was a mix of being able to be together as well as being on a server 100% populated by active players.
Every other server is at least 30-40% populated by inactive accounts that SE is making sur to leave room for in the imminent server merge. In the case of servers like Excalibur, this involves uniting 3 servers with even heftier inactive player counts.
Because Ragnarok is brand spanking new... the only people who will be there are the ones who specifically chose to be there. Eh? See the logic?
That being the case, the 11 of us would like to open our doors to any other English Speaking players out there who would like to join us! If you've selected Ragnarok and you would like to be a part of our family, please let me know here or find me in-game after the merge!

1) Register at www.ffxionline.com
2) Enter your User CP and select "Permission Groups" on the left
3) Find "Dreams in Vanadiel Linkshell Members" in the list, select to Join Group and Confirm
That's it! You're done! Now just go to the main forum listings and you'll see it in the section marked "Private Forums". If you've done everything correctly you'll also see the Calendar option.
If you can't find it, follow the link at the top of this section ^_^*
*Membership to the DIV forum is not mandatory. It is however, highly recommended. There you will find any and all information regarding the LS and it's activities*
- Any type of LS event that members discuss with me will be posted there in it's own thread as well as in the LS calander as soon as I'm made aware of it. Checking in frequently is your best bet to knowing what's going on at all times. We have a lot of members from a lot of time-zones. You can't always count on talking to someone in-game.
- If you would like a future event added to the calendar, I will gladly put it there for you. As time goes on, I may open the calendar up for everyone to post on their own. It would also be in your best interest to make a new thread in the forum to accompany your event and allow others to RSVP if it's something they would like to join you in.
- In a circumstance where only a certain number of people will be needed, participants will be chosen at the disclosure of the person who originally posted the event.

Code of Conduct
1. Our prime objective is to help one another, we're not here to be selfish.
To put it another way, don't only ask for help. If another member asks for assistance, don't just ignore them. Of course this doesn't mean drop everything you're doing... but if it's reasonably possible, try and lend a hand.
2. Be Respectful.
We are not going to tolerate any behavior aimed at intentionally hurting someone else, whether whether they are in the shell or not. As a member of DreamsInVanadiel, you're expected to be kind and helpful to others in the game. Acting out or flaming someone only serves to make us look bad.
Many of us have senses of humor that are sarcastic and occasionally boarder on vulgar. Please try to keep in mind that although you may find it funny, someone else might not. If you think it's starting to get out of hand, please take it to /tells.
3. Try to maintain a positive atmosphere, don't Flame out of control.
I know the game can be frustrating sometimes. Something is bound to get you upset eventually. All we ask is that when this happens, try to keep your complaining under control. This doesn't mean NEVER complain, but just try not to rant on and on about it. Many of our members might be new to the game and we don't want to discourage them from playing by making them think that "EVERYTHING SUCKS".
4. Participate and stay active.
We want everyone to try and actively participate in the shell, whether you want to share what you're up to or just chat. Please do not try to claim any kind of seniority over any other member of the shell based on how long you've been here. Nobody is in any way obligated to participate in any of the scheduled LS events, but the more you do, the more you'll get out of it. We have a lot of members from a lot of backgrounds and cultures, get to know some of them, make friends, be active!
5. Every member is equal.
Unlike a lot of shells out there, we want to strive to make sure that everyone is on the same level. Just because I technically lead this shell does not make me any more important than our newest members. This applies to any event that we hold as a group, too. For instance, if we arrange as a group to do an Ifrit Prime fight... everyone has an equal right to anything that drops.* If an item drops, you have no more right to it than "the new guy".**
*I expect our members to adhere to common sense in these events. Just because you have the right to lot, doesn't always mean you should. If an item drops and you don't have a job that can use it, let it go to someone who does.
**Again, I expect all of you to remember that just because you can, doesn't mean that you should. Try and think of it fairly. If you know someone has been working hard and showing up regularly to try and obtain some rare drop, think of how you would feel if someone came out of nowhere and took it.
6. Officers and their role in the LS
I will be handing out officer roles to the members I know I can trust to constantly act within the guidelines of the above-mentioned rules. They serve as my eyes and ears when I cannot be in the game and report they report their findings directly to me. Other than that, they are no different than any other member and get no preferential treatment. Most of them are long standing members of the DIV forums and have moral standards that are within the context of these rules.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Breaking the Rules
If you see someone acting outside of the rules stated above, please do not IMMEDIATELY complain. If it's possible, send a /tell to that person and try to explain to them that what they're doing is against the rules. More often than not, it's a simple misunderstanding and nobody gets hurt. It's important not to confront someone in LS chat so that they don't feel like they need to go on the defensive, take such conversations directly to /tell. There is no need to overwhelm me or or any of the Officers with issues that can be easily handled on your own.
If someone is aggressively breaking the rules and will not listen or reason... or is excessively cursing, being verbally abusive, threatening or sexually harassing toward someone, immediately bring it up to me or one of the officers currently logged on. If none can be found, please send me a PM here or on the DIV forum and I will do my best to sort things out.
DO NOT fight back. DO NOT aggravate the situation and DO NOT involve the GMs unless until you've exhausted all other options and it becomes absolutely necessary.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Final Thought
By all accounts, we are not a strict LS at all. There are many out there who have application processes with pages upon pages of rules to follow, mandatory events, ranking systems and profit sharing. We don't operate like that. Our rules can be summed up in just a few words:
Be Respectful. Be Helpful. Have Fun. Use Your Common Sense.
