Voice of confidence for regional servers model

The idea of introducing real life "cultural diversity" into fantasy world sickens me!
We all share Eorzea world, laws, culture, awesome cloth design and weapons not available (yet) in the real world.

The idea of regional servers is purely technical.
I would not dispute neither would I agree with arguments against it from a cultural or business point of view.
I take my hat off for "CCP" - "EVE-online" MMO creator. They have a server cluster in a single location. The structure is very expensive, unique and took 10 years to perfect.
I heard of no one following their steps on that scale: 60K+ users logged to the same server at the same time.

Anyway, just want to say: "I'd like to logon to the server near me rather then the one in JP and enjoy the game having less than 200ms latency"

Seriously, though, those EVE comparisons are totally unrealistic. It's a space game about spaceships. In space. It just flows differently. 60K users there is not the same thing as 60K users in FFXIV or any other traditional MMORPG.

I would be perfectly OK with split up servers if I could take my character across to any server I wish to log into. That should pretty much solve everyone's beef, right? Go where you want, when you want, with the character you want.

I want regional servers i would love to log in and see my LS with more than one person being online since im from england i want to play with EU players who are obviously going to be awake at the same time as me not trying to be a dick about it but if it means i have to loose most NA/JP players to have servers filled with EU players i would welcome it infact i would pack the others bags for them. (i dont hate either NA or JP players before anyone plays the "WHATS WRONG WITH US?!" card just want more people to play with in the day time)

I hope I'm not the only one struggling to make sense of this post. I mean, it sounds like he's singing the praises of EVE's system, but yet is happy that FFXIV isn't doing that? I dunno, I don't get it.
