Gearswapping is here to stay, unless everyone starts crying against the gearset system.

What does gear swapping have to do with gear sets? One is switching your gear to benefit a particular action, the other is a saved set of gear. From the video, it doesn't seem beneficial at all to select a gear set, accept, and select accept again...just for one weapon skill.
Both are the same concept, you have a set of gear for a specific reason, also there's much more possibility that there will be a macro command for changing gearsets since people love convenience. Whether used in battle or not, we don't know yet, but we do know there's already a gearswap system in place that works better than using macros now from what we seen, especially seeing as they got rid of the useless checks when you change gear, it'd work even better in ARR.What does gear swapping have to do with gear sets? I mean, BRDs even swap in and out of AF for casting songs now for example.

Once you equip something in a gear set it is no longer in your inventory.
You cannot equip the very same item to more than 1 gear set.
Gear sets don't seem to be favoring gear swapping at all. Hopefully we'll remain unable to switch gear when in active mode, and thus especially with the faster paced battle system gear swapping will become very much not worth it.
Dont mages engage in combat now when they cast spells? (Preventing gear swaps)Gear sets are limited in number.

Not sure if they disengage at end of spell though.
Yea I am petty sure gear sets are just a way to switch gear fast when changing jobs and you still won't change gear a bunch while in combat. This isn't FFXI and in FFXI if you didn't use spellcast it put you at a disadvantage, the whole gear swapping thing was kind of an accident by SEs part in that game.Gear sets are limited in number.
