Maybe it's just the larger servers where the consumable markets are profitable, since unlike SB related gear like Deerstalker caps and Coral Rings, people seem to be very willing to buy stacks of 5-7k food.

    Food is an optional item to buff yourself. Ammo is required to play as an Archer/Bard. It only has a market because it HAD to have one. Food will remain just as important in A Realm Reborn, Archer just won't be an unnecessary gil sink.
