Yeah, because the new system is the exact same as it is now.
Oh wait.
Also, lol @ strategic auto-attack.

You will need to hunt down the exact quote, I swear there is one but i'm at work right now.
However: There will be a button (in the latest images it's a crossed swords on a red background) that disables auto-attacking. It, however, does not disengages the target (removes targetting). Now we merely need to know wether or not it turns off active mode.

heres a pro tip = turn around so your not facing target to stop attacking. it takes a split second to turn around if your not locking onto mobs
What it feels more important than having ranged AA is the fact they say they will adjust archers and bards damage, are they gonna gimp it again?
I prefer having to buy arrows and having to press light shot key as many times as needed if archers/bards were the strongest single hit damage dealers.

The adjustment is more so about the damage values on bows since they used to work together with arrow damage values. Now they'll have their own damage values without any ammo consideration. What it feels more important than having ranged AA is the fact they say they will adjust archers and bards damage, are they gonna gimp it again?

Also Archer/ Bards will never be highest single target DPS. They shouldn't anyway.
I refer archer mostly for Ranger job, bards never had that much dmg anyway, and in XI ranger was one of the most powerful damage dealers at the cost of arrows, that was a fair exchange imo, now without amunition i guess my favorite class/job will be gimped. The adjustment is more so about the damage values on bows since they used to work together with arrow damage values. At the launch of this game, archer was the most powerful class especially with multishot

Forgive me if someone already asked this, but what will happen to existing arrows? Will they just disappear? Will they be converted to unique/untradeable dated items? Can we even equip them? I'm not an ARC/BRD, but I'm curious how this will be handled.

Arrows NPC for 1 gil. It was said that anything under a certain amount or worth only 1 gil will be converted to its monetary value in 2.0.
