    Can I back-up or transfer my files to evoid a day of downloading patches ?

    Hi, the problem is my friend's hdd failed and so he must resinstall everything. Is there a way that I can give him the files from my extrenal drive, transfer them to his new installed windows and the software updater will check the files but not download them ?

    The patches should still be downloaded to your computer I think. In Windows 7, check your Documents\My Games\Final Fantasy XIV\patch folder and I think one of those sub folders have the actual patch files. (At work so I can't check the actual folder) You'll still have to reinstall the game but once the patch files are placed in the designated folder, the patcher will check them and install them.

    hmm thanks for info, the path will probably be at different location due to different windows but it's good to know that the patch files are somewhere. Thanks!!
