There's going to be new servers when 2.0 launches. If you are that worried about the economy because of current activities, start fresh on a new server.

What doesn't make any sense to me, is it seems like the people who started without gil are the ones complaining about this...
What could there possibly be to complain about? It's a completely fair playing field.

Just means they need to make gil sinks for the new players, like buying land (just put some safeguards to stop them from reselling or buying more than one) and all the stuff for building. I'm sure this alone will be expensive and something for new players to work towards and will be a privilege for older players to be able to afford off the hop. if they pay it to the NPC then the money effectively disappears. just a thought, if not then it just might be a huge issue for the economy and new players.

Yeah its not like there is something stopping everyone from doing same thing. I was making my gil off making sarnga and other class only gear it was slow going depending on the item. I've been doing atomos for seals so I could get that damn beastman key item and gc weapons since they are stronger than all but the relics. Honestly had no clue about this money maker.
Tempting. Very tempting.

True indeed. Its not as though its a QUICK way to make money.

Also look at it this way... If we get MORE gil so gil is worth less...isn't that exactly the same as taking gil away so gil is worth more? When SE says they're reducing the gil volume by 90%, you shrug and say its no big deal because its just a shift in denomination. Well its the same for when gil inflates. This isn't the real world, this is a bubble. So inflation can never really ruin anything, because there's no alternate currency to base it on.

True if everyones gil inflated at the sametime at the same rate. However not everyone is doing atomos, or was able to load up on thousands of leve quests back when they had awesome gil rewards.
Or has an army of bots to follow you around like the RMT's do at cedarwood :P
Like in real life the problem would be the rich are getting richer then everyone else (the rate is disproportional). So at some point (or now you could argue) we have a problem. 1% has 90% issue.

Well everyone can still charge more for what they're selling. They can keep in mind that a lot of players have a lot more gil now, and therefore charge more.True if everyones gil inflated at the sametime at the same rate.
