Will Arcanist have class exclusive gear as well?

Being an avid THM player, I delight in the versatility that playing exclusively as a class provides, and I enjoy feeling like a unique, little snowflake prancing around in Vanya gear with an Astrolabe

Anyway, since it appears Arcanist will be quite a bit different than it's corresponding job, I was hoping I could play it exclusively. Will they continue the trend of having class exclusive gear for new classes?

If you mean AF for the Summoner variant, pretty sure all new jobs will have new quests and abilities, as well as the armor accounted for.

That's exactly what I do not mean. I'm talking about class exclusive gear, stuff that jobs can't wear. Again, like the Vanya set and Astrolabe

I'm fairly certain they will be able to use the vanya set, and a class-exclusive weapon that can also be used to get a relic.

I'm not even sure they'll introduce a relic for it right off the bat, especially since Summoner won't be available right at launch.. That means there won't be abilities, quests, or gear associated with it. And come on, look how long it took them to add Relics to FFXIV as we see them now?

But I'm also sure they'll be able to wear Vanya gear, since both CNJ and THM can..

No reason to bring not the class exclusive weapon for arcanist with the launch. The other classes got their weapons months before the relict quest, too.

I would hope they actually make classes relevant by then. Considering all classes are currently inferior to jobs in every aspect. The only exception being THM, and that's really only for Nael Hard. Once they finally differentiate classes and make them a viable alternative to Jobs, I'd be willing to see this. Until then, it's a waste of time.

THM is certainly not needed for the Darnus hard fight, it is easily circumvented by everyone having a lunar curtain. Having a THM in the party means only the DD and BRD need a lunar curtain.

All Classes have their uses in low level, low man play. once your hit 30 you probably wont need it any more. Though as a solo gladiator even at 50 I have access to a lot of abilities that I find greatly useful. AOE for a start as PLD has none of it at all.
