    They should remove the gil earned also, otherwise the damage has already been done.

    It's possible to do, and really should be done.

    A lot of it went straight to the wards, hence the inflation. People bought the lowest cost items, so what's left is the stuff that people had up for months that didn't sell because they priced it too high.
