I think it is more people with a lot of gil are spending it fast so they won't lose it in the cap in 2.0. But I am sure Atomos spam is also contributing.

You won't lose any gils... They just take your money and split by 10.
EX.
You have 356 000 000 --> You'll have 35 600 000
You have 54 000 000 --> You'll have 5 400 000
Otherwise people with less than 100 000 000 would be advantaged

Back to topic, I don't think that Atomos could ever have any influence on game economy. -.-

Your post is so off and shows so much unawareness. People are making pretty good gil off the event. More importantly, yes, the announcement about the gil cap has caused huge inflation. SE should of kept this a secret, but w/e./otmode on

I think the Atomos event really just triggered how much money exists in the game in the first place. Inflation has always been hidden due to insanely low demand.
We have no idea how Square dealt with the gil issue from the Atomos event because their communication and customer support just isn't any good.

Atomos is having a huge influence on the high-end economy. For example the relic dbl-meld recipe tree. Heavens Eye has went from 2mil to 4mil, Sarnga dbl went from 29mil to 45mil. Market ward stock of all mats required diminished fast./otmode on

It is however, starting to recover, although prices are still too high.
Once people get there 500k seals achievement and their fill of gil from blood/dawn drops, should be back to normal. not seen anywhere that its going to end, event page has no start date.

Player#1 had 356 000 000 gil in 1.0 --> player #1 now has in 99 999 999 gil in 2.0
Player#2 had 56 000 000gil in 1.0 --> and will still continue to have 56 000 000 in 2.0 as they have not passed the cap.
...I retract this statement... just read Yoshi's post.... sorry for the confusion..... *backs away slowly and runs away*

You're wrong lulz.Wrong:
Player#1 had 356 000 000 gil in 1.0 --> player #1 now has in 99 999 999 gil in 2.0
Player#2 had 56 000 000gil in 1.0 --> and will still continue to have 56 000 000 in 2.0 as they have not passed the cap.
No ones at a disadvantage cause gil cap is now 99 999 999 .... New game new rules ... be thankful Yoshi isn't wiping the slate clean with everyone's gil and giving us all old players 100k to start off with.
