I don't know who translated that text you posted, but you neglected to post the very next question which outright asks "So for now right now if you want same items in 2 gear sets you need to get 2 of the same item?" And the answer was yes. I personally took two years of Japanese in college, and though I would say I'm far from fluent in it, I can personally verify that the quote I posted is pretty accurate. Not that it's necessary as Reinheart's translations are always accurate.
Please don't try to derail this thread into some fictitious debate about weather the translation was accurate or not. There is no discrepancy if it's right or not. The translation is clear. This is just like the silliness that was going on about regional servers... It was made perfectly clear that we were getting regional servers, but people kept saying it wasn't true because they didn't want to believe it, and they blamed it on translation mistakes. Well we now know for 100% sure we're getting regional servers in lieu of the dev post the other day. I'm just going to dismiss further posts on the subject of the translations credibility as trolling. I won't be responding to them anymore.
This thread has a purpose, and arguing about something that is already proven fact isn't one of them.
it also says "we want feedback on this one." If it matters to people they will try to change it.
Because of the fact gear doesn't count against your inventory space though, It doesn't much bother me either way.
The problem that the developers face right now with gear sets is that they were trying to help out players with inventory space and it got out of hand. The reason that gear sets currently work the way they do is because when a particular gear is part of a gear set it is not included as part of your inventory. The same goes for gear that is currently equipped. So in a sense, you have your main inventory, your equipment menu and your gear sets for extra storage.
What they need to do in order to fix this problem is make it so gear sets just link to items currently in your inventory as opposed to acting like extra storage. The only gear that shouldn't take up inventory is that which is equipped.
You can't have your cake and eat it too.

This is how I feel when I read posts on these boards:

You dont understand. That is the Translation of exactly that question you are refering to. Those Translations are from the Devs, so if you are saying they are wrong, you also say that the english ones are wrong. Does that makes sense to you?I don't know who translated that text you posted, but you neglected to post the very next question which outright asks "So for now right now if you want same items in 2 gear sets you need to get 2 of the same item?" We will get International Server with the Option to use a regional Data-Center. <_< Dont tell me to derail, if you come up with servers, which has nothing to do with the question/answer you are posted in your OP.
EDIT:
STOP... what the.. you are refering to Rein's Translation over the Q&A from the Dev's? I just checked also the english Q&A and what you posted in your OP is NOWHERE in those files. Could you please tell me that you really dont even read the Q&A of the Dev's?

I will also give you the english one.
English:

German:
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/54362-3.-Brief-des-Produzenten-Live!-Q-A-Updates
Question #23 on both.
Even if i like Rein's Translation, his Translations have nothing to do with official Q&A and as you can see, Rein's Translation is also different to the english Version of the official Q&A.
