Poll: Gear Tabs (Are you content with needing multiples of the same items?)

In the recent live letter from the producer Yoshida stated that we would be getting gear tabs in order to quickly change between gear sets in A Realm Reborn! Which is awesome, and this will be a really great feature. However there’s a big down side. We won’t be able to equip the same item in more than one set unless we have more than one of the same item.

That’s to say if you want to equip two Spinel Ring’s to your Goldsmith set, and also equip two Spinel Ring’s to your Weaver set, you will need a total of four Spinel Ring’s.

Yoshida stated this is the way it is currently set up to make it more “realistic.” However, I think it’s rather unnecessary considering there isn’t much realistic about a person magically switching all of his cloths instantly anyway. Unfortunately I think this may just be a way to cut corners on the programmers end. I’m not programmer, but would it really be that hard to implement some sort of special inventory bag, in which you drag all of your gear that you want to use to the gear tab, and then from there drag the contents of that “bag” to your gear tabs as many times as you want?

On the bright side, while Yoshida did say that this is how the system currently exists, he did also mention that he would be looking for player feedback on the subject. So we may as well get started telling him how we feel about this. I figured I'd make a poll so VOTE HERE. Please feel free to explain why your for, or against this.

(As a personal side-note I sure hope we will get enough tabs for every Job/Class. They said additional tabs will be made available through quests. If implemented correctly this will be an amazing feature.)

We’re trying to make it possible, but for UI it’s going to be confusing, so right now we’re talking about where you can use the macro to move those items between gear sets, so it’s going to bit technical. We want to ask the players and get feedback for this one.
F: So for no right now if you want same item in two gear sets you need to get two of the same item?
Y: Yes at this time that’s it but we want to get players feedback for this one.

I don't like it, btw. It's especially bad for stuff you can only have once, like Explorer's Ring or Darklight.
You'd have to have it in your normal inventory, taking up space and you'd waste time putting it on manually everytime.
It's by far not a gamebreaking issue to me but it's inconvenient and I don't see much realism in it either. If I possess a piece of cloth I should be able wear it, no matter of my current profession, right?
In reality you wouldn't put away a good hat "only for cooking", you'd use it for goldsmithing too instead of buying a second one.

A: You will have to create separate gear sets per class/job. However, this is one of the functions we would like feedback on during the Alpha test. Please be sure to test it out and let us know what you think!

If this is the Q&A you're referring to, I didn't get that same message. I read it as though you can not share the complete saved set. You can use the same items, but you must create a new set with that item in it for a different job. I could be wrong, that's how I interpreted it if indeed this is the Q&A this post is about.

I was wondering. Is it just X amount of Gear Sets overall? Or does each class/job get their own X amount of Gear Sets?

I hope its been mis-translated, because it would NOT be realistic having to have 2 of the same items to use em in diff sets.

Edit: The only way it would be realistic, is something along the lines of:
You have a box full of items from a set, you open box and equip everything in it.
In that case, same item cant be in 2 different "boxes"

But still not a very good way to do it. Makes people upset it does.

I better see zero likes, mistranslation or not, considering people's gripe with gear swapping was:

1. Having to carry multiple gearsets
2. Blinking is unrealistic.
3. Swapping gear on the fly ruins immersion.
