You want to worsen my game experience, something practical and useful, because you don't want to see people jumping.

He technically isn't ruining your game experience because jump or content requiring its implementation hasn't been added yet. If anything, you run the possibility of "ruining" his already existent one by asking for the feature

I've pretty much settled on "if there's stuff that requires my jumping, by all means add it. If there are other ways around any issues, then don't."

The content that requires jumping is already there, all those tiny little fences, itty bitty cliffs and amazingly annoying inch-high bricks found all throughout eorzea, that by all rights you should be able to step over, let alone jump...
