Agreed. I don't have a strong opinion one way or the other about jumping, but in the end my impression is that there are more pressing things the development team needs to be concerned with at the moment. That's not to say this isn't important especially if it matters to you, just that maybe it's not the time to be worked up over this particular issue. Even if it isn't addressed now, there's always time to implement this feature in the future.
