BTW, when I saw your name I thought of zoolander, and I had a short guffaw.Concerning the second part about collision detection apart from jumping, I think the idea about feeling bound to the ground (I think the bigger issue here) could be largely remedied by adding an animation when descending ledges like a light fall or a sliding motion giving the appearance of leaving the ground or just something visually different from the normal running animation down or up the grade. It would look less anchored allowing the conversation about actual jumping to be postponed and saving development time for more pressing matters while offering much of the same effect. Just an idea.
