    As far as a compromise on jumping with your character but not on chocobo, I say no. I can only see people jumping just for the fact to bunny hop. If you really want to jump, why not just add it in an /emote? As you said, we should keep it as only a FFXIII or Zelda game where it's recognized as a Collision Detection. We should only jump as a passive way to clear the obstacle.

    I honestly really don't believe in jumping. Doesn't make sense. They're going for realism in character animations. From the start WoW didn't care about realism. Hell with collision engines and practicality, it was about complete fantasy immersion. Actually, I take back my previous comment about not jumping. I honestly don't care either way. If they add it great, if they don't...just as great. It's not a make or break issue with me.

    No, but seeing a dude hoisting himself up a ledge with a triumphant grunt is a lot cooler looking than seeing the same dude hop around like a monkey in heat.

    I honestly don't care either. I'm just trying to voice my opinion as to which is better and also try to appeal to both crowds. The only thing I don't want to see is everybody smashing jump ALL the time. Like if there is a PvP eventually....It's going to turn into Halo where everyone is jumping around you....

    Honestly, I think that the dev's care as much about that as any of us. It is final fantasy and as such has a certain standard we would all have to adhere to. Jumping ala Halo style...not gonna happen, I'm 100% beyond a shadow of a doubt certain that it's just not gonna happen.

    Dragoons and tactics lancers, everyone who wears plate in dissidia, I guess gladiator doesnt get much air but they can certainly do a flip.

    Edit: I guess dragoons and lancers mostly had partial plate.


    Edit: man it so not going to be like wow or halo if they implement jumping.

    I just don't understand the out cry against jumping. It isn't that big of a deal. No one wants tons of bunny hoppers, but they can have a system that prevents the abuse of that, a fatigue system would solve that easily enough, as well as slowing character movement if you are low on it.

    The MMO industry has standards and this game isn't going to have a big enough Final Fantasy following to keep this game afloat and thriving. They need to appeal to MMO players, not just old school FFers living on past ideals and traditions.
