    It doesn't have to be 'needed'. It will be a nice feature and I don't understand what's the big deal.

    Why does everyone fight adding more features to the game? It is SE's game and if they like to add jump, they will.

    Weather some people here like it or not, it will absolutely be a + by majority.

    There's two sides to this:

    1.) You can jump in WoW, and many people here have inexplicable hatred for WoW, and they are afraid that anything in WoW that shows up in FFXIV will be turning FFXIV into a "WoW Clone".

    2.) In WoW, other than a few specific places, the jump feature has no purpose other than to allow its players to hop around like ninnies.

    I'm of the mind that it would be nice to have a jump feature similar to--and it pains me to say this--FFX-2, where scalable walls and small gaps are context sensitive, and the option to jump is given only where it is needed.

    If SE re-examines their maps and how they handle ground and barrier collision, a jump feature may not be necessary, but that would be a lot of work to do for something that can be easily solved by simply letting us jump over small obstacles.

    wow get off this realism kick and this "unneded kick" don;t look at the NOW look at the future. Also as a former WoW player i RARELY SEEN PPL BUNNY HOP AND IT NEVER CAUSED ME LAG. I TRAVELD TO JUST ABOUT EVERY ZONE AND CAME ACROSS 5. PPL IN FFXI SPAM DANCE EMOTE MORE OFFTEN THEN A PLAYER SPAMS JUMPS IN WOW. ALSO FFXI DANCE EMOTE ARE A FORM OF JUMPING IN PLACE AND DO IT MORE TIMES PER EMOTE THEN A SPACE BAR JUMP DOES. Tyhey can add content FOR jumping, or were jumping is involed. WHICH IS NEEDED AS YOU GUYS SCREAM FOR MORE CONTENT. same goes for swimming.

    HOW REALISTIC ARE 12 HOURS DAYS? HOW REALISTIC IS RUNNING EVERYWHERE? HOW REALISTIC IS OUR CHARACTER IN NOT AGING?

    GAMES ARE NOT MEANT FOR REALISM. AND IT IS FAR FROM CARTOONISH TO JUMP.

    friken haters for sake of hating are for more silly then an occsional spam jumpe. Also AUTO JUMP CAN AND WILL CAUSE TIME CONUMING JUMP LOOPS. MEANING PLATERS GET STUCK JUMPING BETWEEN 2 OR MORE AREAS.

    Auto jumping small obstacles is a must, if they don't want to code in actual manual jump then they need to be able to allow the character to jump the stupid little fences that are about 6" tall that you get stuck on. Even for area's that would benefit from jumping make it Auto, this way we dont have the whole oh wait let me jump all the way to camp bloodshore cause I can.

    WOW out of all the flaws in this game the MOST HEATED DEBATE is.....Jumping lmao just agree to disagree(and wait until Yoshi-P gives insight). This thread is taking over other threads that wasn't even about this topic. The Japanese forum is worried about copy/paste while we can't even settle a jumping debate... lmao this is sad and funny at the same time. Now while there are good valid opinions just agree to disagree. This is going nowhere.

    I would just like to point out that jumping can actually impact my gameplay (having to turn off auto-run, back up, and then go around some invisible little patch on the ground where my character got stuck on what I can only assume is a pebble), whereas copy/paste cannot.

    Debating about maps that are already done and released doesn't seem much superior to me.

    NOPE no need for Jump. maybe hit a ledge or something and a menu option pops up where you can climb it but thats it and thats stretchign it.

    NO dedicated JUMP button..........

    I don't see why people want jump so badly. The game has so many other things that need fixing before something as insignificant as jump should be considered. It is especially surprising when so many of us come from FFXI, where jumping is nonexistent. I happen agree that, at most, there should be a prompt to climb or clear hurdles otherwise you could not. But I still don't think jump is necessary.

    Theres a simple solution to jumping that would please everyone, context sensative jumping, meaning you can only jump when and where the game tells you that you can. For instance if you are standing by a small ledge an icon map appear on screen indicating that you can jump down.
