Dear Development Team,

Hi! First of all let me tell you that you're doing a great job so far, and I know I can expect the best from you when it comes to future installments. Secondly I know right now a lot of people are expressing their deepest concerns for your country and let me go off and say how I am truly sorry for your tragedy. Everybody in your company with friends, family, and co-workers who suffered in this disaster. I just want you all to know that my heart weeps for all your horrible pain and anquish. I will do my part to the best that I can to help donate any and all spare available funds I can to help you come through this time of crisis. Now why I am writing this last thread of mine is to ask you, with the upmost courtesy, to set a lock on this thread. I believe after 20,000+ views, 850 different replies, and 86 pages of discussion that it is finally time to set this discussion in stone. I have seen, with the best of my ability, that every possible logical problems and concerns have been addressed and rebuttaled. There seems to be no more reason to take this discussion any further other than to insult people which is what currently is happening.

I am formally asking that this thread be locked out of discussion until you, and the rest of the development team, has layed down a plan for this simple yet elegant task to be incorporated into this beautiful installment of your franchise juggernaut. Thank you, and I hope you consider my request with the upmost haste and speed.

So what about a stamina system? where as you jump, you lose stamina, which in turn affect the height and distance of your next jump until you run out of stamina after say...idk 3 or 4 consecutive jumps. Of course the bar would slowly refill, but it would cut down on the spamming.

I agree wholeheartedly! being able to do a little jump up say a small ledge or dragging ourself up to that ledge just a little higher than we can jump would be usefull.

will lalafell be able to jump as high as elfs? O_O

though I recon should be able to give a "Step up" for those higher ledges too lol

No it won't. Guess what you don't need while in a town. Stamina. So no matter what, people have no reason to conserve stamina and will jump whenever possible. And even if players are given the ability to jump once a minute, or two minutes, or three minutes, or however many minutes, it will still annoy people. Do you know why? Because bunny hopping isn't what annoys you, jumping for no reason is what annoys you. Would it annoy you if a different people jumped one after another in a crowd of players where you grab leves? Yes.

I have read most of the posts...and that's a lot. There are reasons to agree and disagree with adding a jump feature. If someone jumping about in a video game annoys you to the point of anger, make an appointment with a shrink. Adding jump to this game would enhance quite a few different areas of game play. The biggest area would be the cut down on travel times in some cases where you "slide" down a small ledge but cannot get back up it and have to run for 10-15 minutes locating an access point.

Only if the game is designed for it, which XIV is not so it won't necessarily enhance gameplay or let us explore places normally unreachable since everything beyond our paths is "solid" or doesn't exist.

Well technically if you slide off of the side of a steep cliff face you shouldn't be able to jump back up it xD. Hopping over small ledges or gaps automatically would be good though.

I just wanted to add another voice calling for FF13/Zelda-style jumping. I can do without the hordes of people who seem to be unable to take their fingers off the jump button in certain games that shall not be mentioned.

Your sentence doesn't even make sense compared to what I said. "Because you are psychic and know what annoys people more than they do" would have made more sense. Bunny hopping is a subset of action derived from jumping for no reason. The only situations where bunny hopping is called for is when kiting enemies like hunters do in WoW or trying to disorient another player in PvP. All I'm getting at is that if you're annoyed with bunny hopping, you'll be annoyed no matter what if jumping is introduced into the game, unless it is context sensitive jumping.

But on a side note. I do know motivation behind someone's jump. They jump because they have to, or they jump because they don't have to. So I guess I am psychic. I hope I blew your mind.
