It's not a to priority -- it's just one of the most talked about features therefore Yoshida gave his thoughts on it, and it's actually fairly low priority.Is this really one of the top priorities of the devo team atm? O.o; why is this listed as one of the latest coments on the game by the devo team..... this weighs in so lightly in the overall view of all the problems that need to be addressed..... REALLY guy come on talk about ignoring the 400lb gorilla in the room, how about adressing the threads about the more pressing issues Mr. Yoshida, the battle system....battle regi's are aweful(ws chains work), auto attack = win, Or maybe the thread about the class seperation and addition of traditional classes (not just the names) and the topic about drop kicking the armory system the mismash hybrid system is just so broken, hhmmm or maybe the rank favored equipment system. COME ON! The complete lack of content, I actually learned to love crafting but this game goes extreme with making a absolute necessity to pass time. Can we maybe put jumping on the back burner and handle the that big snarling beast standing over there snaking on the players patience? PLEASE! thank you XD
Kimahri is right 100%, but should aim that post at the developement team.

ummm i understand this very well O.o; my point is the latest comments made should be about the most pressing matters not jumping. If i were the HNiC(if u dont know what hnic is ask a black dude =P) of this game's improvement i wouldnt waste my time or press the paitence of the real players that wanna see real improvements by not commenting on the real issues and commenting on the lesser problems, that was my point you obviously swung and missed on what i was saying, choke up a little on the next pitch ^^;

Haha, it would be amusing to see how many original Final Fantasy developers are for implementing jump and how many are against it.
I think the only reason the original Final Fantasy games didn't have jump is because of time and technological restraints. If you want to have a vibrant, living, breathing world, you should strive to include every kind of locomotion, and that includes jumping.

Amen brother!Haha, it would be amusing to see how many original Final Fantasy developers are for implementing jump and how many are against it.

I support Jumping, I never figured out why a Dragoon could jump in combat in XI, but NO WHERE ELSE...
On related note, I always wondered how Dragoons jumped in doors...
I'm just surprised that the thing the producer responds to is the jump-feature instead of a lot of other, in my opinion more pressing matters. But I guess it's just all about the numbers, the more replies a thread has, the more important it must be.
Well this issue should have been taken care of long ago when people were requesting its implementation way before alpha. It's about time FF caught up.
In any case, the developers have also responded to terrain complaints too.

Actually reading the Japanese forums he responded to more than just jumping. If there's "more pressing matters" post about it - If it's in regards to content well we know they're busy with the battle system currently.
I am actually shocked, people against jumping... you do realize your petty thoughts have now changed the ideas of the developers, because in your little bubble you didn't want jumping in this game. For every reason against it, I simply can't understand why they even bothered to type their grudges against it.
As I have said before, just add friction so that when the player hits the ground it adds maybe a second or 2 delay before they can jump again therefore no spamming of jumping( which just never happens anyway) no abuse of it or lagging of your game ( which doesn't happen anyway) and guess what you dont have to jump anyway, and guess what the people who wanted to jump can!!!! Oh my god problem solved, now we can closed the thread and implement this amazing idea !
Edit: Might as well go all out, you realize that this game is not doing so well because it tried something very different( which i salute to and respect) but certain things must be implemented so that the average gamer will feel at home or can adjust to FFXIV. So for all the dedicated FF fans myself including should shut up and let some changes be made that are not to our taste and lets try get this game rolling.

You know, I can actually understand the frustration in this post, because I'm feeling it, too. FFXI, for better or worse, was released almost a decade ago in a market with few choices or other standards to compare itself to. And I'm tired of the argument that we don't need things in FFXIV just because FFXI didn't have it.I am actually shocked, people against jumping... you do realize your petty thoughts have now changed the ideas of the developers, because in your little bubble you didn't want jumping in this game. It may seem like a small thing, but many of the bad reviews and feelings of an outdated clunky game didn't just cite the UI or the combat system. How was it you had this beautiful character with such amazing facial expressions and emotions, and even the way you run and shift your weight when you come to a stop is SO lifelike... but you can't even jump?
I'm loathe to use the term fanboys, but the FF traditionalists who are claiming that new features will only somehow destroy the integrity of this game are only serving to hold back progress and keep FFXIV from being taken seriously by the gaming community.
This game will surely wither away if it doesn't move into the next MMO generation, and that generation expects a full array of controls, including the ability to jump. Evolve or die.
