    Listing stuff for sale however does need to become a lot simpler. All they have to do is address that and it will be a fine system.
    The main issue is that the listings are not linked. Hence why everyone fights over spaces for their retainer in the Uldah wards. Granted, this is but one of the problems encouraging everyone to hang out in one city instead of spreading out.

    I'm sure people would go to the appropriate wards if they could spread out in all cities without fear of their wares NOT being seen.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

    Haha that was me, and yeah I agree the anonymity is great. With mail system muling will probably become popular for those who can afford it, $3 extra/mo?

    I mean if they wanna make the item market a more unique experience I think there are many different ways to go about it. How about the Qirqin (sp) are all about "clank clank" I don't see why they couldn't implement a market system around them or something. Ya know? utilize some story behind it..

    This is a good point. But anyone with Legacy (unlike me, missed it by a week /pout) will be able to get 2 characters for the price of one. Not trying making an argument, just shining light on an option a lot of people will have.

    Just do a poll for the love of god if hundreds of threads and polls on the net haven't given you SE a clue what the public wants.

    Also every single review of XIV ever went to great lengths to ridicule the MW system as onee of the biggest flaws in the game. So you might want to think abou maybe?!


    Also get some non-legacy players in your alpha and beta!!!!!
    I'm legacy but looking at how some people have no critical opinion whatsoever of your product makes me think that old players shouldn't be trusted too much. Just make a good game.

    I may be lazy BUT I waste enough time in game running from point A to point B, waiting to get/start a xp party, searching the web (cuz some crap in this game is confuzin as hell) for quest help/mob location etc., to have to deal with the bullshit MW mechanics.

    They have said that they want to combine the market wards into one. The mercantile houses were only a first step, but we should be able to access them from any city in 2.0. This will resolve the complaints about having horrible markets in certain cities.

    I'd like to know if there's any possibility of adding more wards in the event that the server population fills up too fast, either that or maybe an ongoing fee that players will need to pay to have a space in there, like the fees for stalls. I didn't at first, but I like the market ward system in its current form. The only thing it's really lacking (besides space for everyone) is the ability to scroll through ALL sellers of the same item. There have been times where I wanted to buy HQ, but couldn't because the list was full of NQs. A few tweaks to the interface and the ward system would be fine. And yes, this comes from someone who has played XI for many years.

    My main issue with MW is that I have to physically go into the wards and find my retainer and then put the items on my retainer. Then I have to run to see the price so I can price my item so it can sell, and then go back and price them. If all of this could be streamlined into something that could be done from a menu I wouldn't mind so much. If that isn't done the MW will still be an annoyance at least to me.

    As far as the other features are concerned, at least on my server nearly nobody uses them. If a feature isn't used it's pointless to have. The last time I have seen any of those features used in fact was probably the week of launch.

    I myself would suggest putting in an Auction House with bid and buyout features. Also, I would remove the option to bazaar from the player character themselves, but keep the retainers and Market Wards and use them as storage and bazaars. In FFXI it was always kind of an annoyance to me that you had to be logged in to bazaar your items that you didn't want to sell on the AH because of things like an insanely high fee to post the item up. With this system in place the MW and retainers could function as like a designated bazaar area/alternate place to buy items other than AH and the player wouldn't have to be logged in to have the items up. I would have the retainer posted in the player's estate where they would speak with/summon them and have them function similar to a mog house and give the option to have them bazaar items in the wards.
