OP: have you already seen the new crafting in the live letter video?
1. the mini game is still ingame
2. you have your crafting skills in your skill bar, not in an extra window
3. Skills cost CP
4. carefull synthese cost CP, normal synthese cost no CP
5. CP don't regenerate during a craft
6. CP management would be necessary to make HQ
Here's the video, starts around 5 minutes in though the link should take care of that:

Great! Like I said before, I was only going by the description in the letter and never saw the video (until now). Thank Azeyma it appears the basic crafting model is intact. I was worried it would be some kind of flat book where you select matts, press a button and wham, you have 200 Robes of Vit. If folks want that kind of thing for NQ sub-parts, like say.. Iron Rivets, fine with me (just a better Hasty Hand).
But again (and this is only my personal opinion) if you want those +1's, then you need to get to work!
Thanks for the discussion!

Looks like Careful only increases quality and Standard only increases progress. No more rapid?
Skills cost CP :-(
And it seems to be so much faster than now...
I dont like the thought of a skill taking 1/5 of the CP that is ALSO used to cast "careful"
He was a low level crafter. Maybe the amount of CP increase with the level
The problem is that while crafting is fun...its only fun for very brief periods of time, and to level it efficiently, you need to spend a great many hours crafting...and that can become mind-numbingly tedious. I very often find myself zoning out and doing it autonomously whilst I don't even watch the screen anymore. That's not fun.
Durability is that 60/60 thing that was going down each synth. that skill that used a lot of CP restored it. Looks like the synth succeded when he reached 0 and max progress too, instead of blowing up, so while it may still be possible to fail a synth, it wont fail that way anymore. I like it.
I wish I felt like that when putting my pin-code in to pay with my credit card or pushing buttons at work. Would make life just way more exciting.Hummm...
I use a controller so I press a smooth pretty green button. With each firm but yielding release the endorphins in my pleasure center build to an almost overwhelming climax upon completion.
But I understand, not everyone is up for Tantric, for some it’s all about the quick release.
