    Crafting recipes being simplified is probably one of the best changes this game has made since the 1.0 launch. I'm sorry but to make 1 item, you needed like 5 different crafts at various levels if you wanted to get all the ingredients. Then for example to make a robe, there's 4 different parts to it, each requiring different levels of expertise often in multiple crafts. Quite often the finished product could be made at a lower level than the actual parts. And it took eons to level. It might sound great for someone who has actually invested that kind of time and all, but face it. When new people are coming to the game for them to face such daunting obstacles to crafting is not a good idea. It would have turned people off to crafting.

    I like how it is now. I don't want it to become a WoW/LotrO/SWTOR style thing where its 1 click crafting. But the old style was so much worse. And I haven't seen any indication that out current system is being replaced. Its just becoming more user friendly.

    i don't understand why do you say that there is skills in 1.0 it's only boring , when you need to gather items you can never know what item you will get ,you can only select the best chances to have the item you want but you are not sure , here it's the same system but with less Random and they remove the boring mini game .
    For crafting it's the same but now you can craft the number of items that you want in one time .

    I have been quite surprise to see how they kept the ancient system and improved it to make it less boring .
    Also we don't know what if you want to craft 100 items and the craft fail at 90 % ? we get no item ? 90 ? 45 ?

    At what point in that quote does it even remotely hint that the crafting mini game is being abolished?

    If anything all Yoshida's vague answer says is that they are going to let us use more abilities and possibly let us craft materials faster.

    Looking at the video from the live letter, the mini game doesn't look all too different besides the new UI.

    It seems like the new crafting mini game is centered around CP now. I'm guessing CP management becomes more complex later on.

    Durability is that 60/60 thing that was going down each synth. that skill that used a lot of CP restored it. Looks like the synth succeded when he reached 0 and max progress too, instead of blowing up, so while it may still be possible to fail a synth, it wont fail that way anymore. I like it.
