    RE: PS3/PC Installs

    I'd like to make a request ^^

Make the login's device agnostic (hope that's the right word); and NOT require a disk for PS3

I could use my XI login on any machine regardless of what the original purchase device was. As it stands that I see I have to buy a third account to enable PS3 access to all my accounts.

I confirmed with customer service as such. Since I have account on PC for wife and I; to play on PS3 I'd have to register that copy under the same SEID (since both our XIV accounts are under the same one).

Basically; if you want to play on PC and PS3 you need 2 copies registered under the same account (one of each)

I'd like it if you just let us download the install (like DC Universe) and install on the PS3 and as long as we have a valid SEID/PC Purchase let us login; and vice versa.

Is that a concern for anyone else?

I find that hard to believe, given that XI handled it just fine. It wouldn't be the first time that SE customer support had incorrect information. I guess we'll see.

It's a legitimate request that you own a legitimate copy for each platform.

There's nothing "dbaggy" about it. The same thing was true of FFXI. The price you pay for the game at the store is for the software, not for the account. If you don't own the PS3 software, you can't play it on PS3.

That being said I can't imagine why you would want to play it on the PS3 if you have a PC.

You can just hook your PC up to the same TV, and use motionjoy or whatever it is to use a PS3 controller to play. Better graphics, no memory limitations or bullshit.

Will I be able to log into both the Windows and PlayStation 3 versions of the game with the my account?

Yes, you will be able to log into both the Windows and PlayStation 3 versions of the game. However, you will need to register the registration codes from both versions of the game.

So if you buy a PS3 copy, you can't play on the PC, You need to buy BOTH ><

You know with the whole comment about limited memory and such on PS3 I was half expecting a surprise announcement for FFXIV on PS Vita.

If you're posting on these forums, you already own a PC copy. Hook it up to your TV, use a PS3 controller, and forget about the PS3 console.

Well my office is downstairs and tv is upstairs. Graphics aren't my major concern; portability is. I'm sure somewhere down the road someone only on PS3 will come across this. In XI you just had to borrow a install disk.

Other than one takes a little longer to boot up, what difference is there in turning your PC on vs turning your PS3 on?

You can connect the PC to both TV and monitor, and have your look-up stuff on one screen and the game on the other. You don't need a PS3 to do that.

Your game experience is going to be superior on the PC version. Your argument that you're on a computer all day is invalid because there's no difference between being "on the computer" and "on the PS3" when they're both connected to the same screens...

You can play PC games from the comfort of a couch just as easily as you can play console games.

Buuut, if you can't comprehend how there's no difference, then you're going to have to plunk down extra $ for a PS3 copy. Sucks to be you. Sorry if it sounds mean, but there's really nothing more to it than that.
