Might have been suggested before, if so then I apologize. For 2.0, since there are so many items in the game, and stashing everything on a couple of retainers is a bit unorganized, I propose the following:

Allow us to craft storage chests specific to certain materials, such as weaver materials, blacksmith materials, etc. Then we can stash the mats in the appropriate chest (if we want to), and know exactly where to find what we are looking for.

For finesse, they do not have to look like chests, they can be anything the devs want. Each chest could have a theme and feel for the items it is meant to store. For example, perhaps an alchemist's chest is a reagents bag. Or a carpenters chest is a wood pile.

Secondly, I propose mannequins or more appropriately, statues that we can craft and place in our homes. On these statues, we can stash gear for our various jobs, and the statue will wear whatever we tell it to wear. If that feels like too much, armor and weapon racks are also possible, though less interesting.

To add a bit of finesse, I was thinking race/gender specific statues, colorless and made of stone of course, standing perhaps even poseable, on a statue base. Stone could be part of the crafting recipe obviously, and would give more use to our sledge hammer's finds.
