Q: I saw some new artwork... What is this (artwork for the upcoming housing system)?

A: With the new housing system, there are multiple themes such as "wilderness," "sea," and "forest." Players will purchase the land and also the right to own a house. Once you build a house, players will be able to create their unique house by selecting from a list of parts. Also, players will be able to place furniture created by Disciples of the Hand and build a chocobo farm in their yard.

The housing system will have updates dedicated specifically to housing. I'm sure players will really enjoy the housing system. Additionally, objects within the house can be placed via drag & drop (including the PS3 version).

Lastly, there are plans to implement huge spaces of land that cost a fortune!


Did anyone else nerdgasam over this? I cant wait to start developing my own lot! what i want to know is can you invite others to your house? can you show it off to your friends? and will any of the things you do to this provide any benefits to your chr like it did in XI?

So long as they make it where you can pay for any lot you want (instance) I will be happy.

Dont want to see a market place retainer scramble all over again.

I hope they dont allow lot hoarding, for example some rich player goes around buying up cheap lots of land and holding onto them to sell to other players for a huge amount, this would be heartbreaking.

Because if its like 50mil gil, no way casuals will be able to buy it.

Per account or per player? If its per player then technically someone could create mules just to buy land and use them to sell the land.

Hmmm... Maybe some system where you cant directly sell it back?
Just sell it into the market, where anyone can grab it?

Im an architectural draftsman in real life, I love this kind of thing. God, I cant wait for furniture too, time to max Carpenter.

After hearing that SAM and NIN are coming back, Im starting to get that feeling that this is "too good". This Dec 21.st Mayan thingy better not freakin happen. Ive got furniture to sort and Chocobo's to raise!

I get the feeling that the "lots" will be like Mog Houses in XI... There's an infinite supply and every character gets one (except in XIV you gotta buy it)

I wouldn't mind a housing market, but there needs to be a limit on how many you can own to prevent rich people buying too many cheap properties for profit. Although that happens in real life anyway, we're all slaves for the rich and most people don't realise it.

I've been waiting for something like this in an MMO for so long, I really hope you can be on an estate with your free company, like was mentioned previously.
