Most would be fine with "internation JP servers", if it isnt labled as such, it being labled as a JP server, will make no NA/EU players ever join it, it will not happen. It needs to be labled as a "Global Server" or it will not work.

It doesn't matter what you label it. People know where the servers are located. You could label it Cool Kids server or Hot Party server.
It does not matter where it is located, nobody cares, idc if its in japan, if its labeled as Global, people that like global, will go there. Half of our current EU division are talking about quiting if global servers arent an option, they can play more than 3hrs a day, most of them bleed into our NA events and vise versa.
so are the current servers.. so. pick or choose? i mean, by all means. join the server in japan if that suits you. trust me, local servers spread across to make players streamline better is needed, especially when they are trying to influence more quick time paced battles. you need the edge of speed to win, not wait for lag to catch up and hopefully not affect your chain.

This right here is true... I don't know how many MMOs I have played where the servers are labeled for where they are be it east coast, west coast, Europe, etc... and guess what... people from other areas still play on those servers. I can't tell you how many times I have been playing on a US east coast server that is labeled as such and there are tons of Europeans, Asians, etc...
I don't think this is really that big of a deal nor will it really change much... but hey you humans do love to make big deals out of everything so whatever...
The cat is bemused =-.-=
It really isn't as rare as you think it is. Basically anyone who is in the army and plays a MMO will be in this situation, many other professions as well from part time workers to full timers doing shift work.
I'm hardly a rare case among players, I'm not utterly against the data centers it's just not in my best interests as a player. If SE at least gives us a "Global server" option at least players in my situation have somewhere to pick when we plant on a server. I'm sorry but "Japanese server" doesn't really help un-confuse someone in my situation when picking a server.
I'm not calling you racist either, I am simply stating your obviously uncomfortable or unable to party with people outside your own area as you seem to be constantly stating how hard it is to play with foreigners when it's usually not that bad.
I'm not "uncomfortable" with them. The only problem is in actually getting a party. In their defense, the JP in FFXIV have been considerably more willing to play with foreigners than they were in XI, but I get the feeling this is largely due to the lower population of XIV servers. I simply can't read Japanese, so i don't know what they're doing unless they use the auto translate- otherwise I would send a tell.I'm not calling you racist either, I am simply stating your obviously uncomfortable or unable to party with people outside your own area as you seem to be constantly stating how hard it is to play with foreigners when it's usually not that bad.
That's perfectly fine, but I don't see why this means you don't see how they effect the game even if your not playing with them.
Having players on 24/7 on a server (In large numbers not a handfull of night-owls) helps drive the server community with better supply and demand of items. I still think people are blaming things like Ifrit lag far too much on the latency and not enough on the current servers themselves.
Japanese players have issues with plumes and such as well, Yoshida has even mentioned it multiple times. You really are gaining a insignificant ammount of latency in terms of how even the new pace of combat flows. Hell XI was pretty touchy on positioning and timing as well and not a whole lot of people screamed bloody murder about server latency in it.
Christ I've outclaimed Japanese players even with my apparant handicap (Some of the best NM hunters I knew in XI were EU the apparant children with the worst latency of all)
The current game relies too much on Server side checks and it's the reason we have the current input lag today. As long as SE moves alot of the checks client side we could be much like XI with a insignificant delay. I can see where the hardcore PVPers might want latency issues checked but for PVE? Hell we will still get the lag because your going to be using Content finder.
Unless Content finder wont allow you to connect to other "Data centers" Then you really are segregating the servers.
Google translate is your friend, and a little common sense of course.
This is just a demand from weeaboos who want to stay with JP players who could honestly care less about them.
