I can understand if the principle of the outrage is the time spent earning the gil that's gonna disappear becoming a total waste... But I'm not seeing any other reason for this to be a problem... Assuming you can't hide your extra gil in a retainer named Swiss Bank, it's not like you're gonna suddenly find yourself having to buy gear priced at 250,000,000 a piece, and you're stuck with a measly 99,999,999... You currently can't price a single item at over the gil cap, you're not going to be able to price items at over 99,999,999 with the new gil cap...

Even if you could price things at over the cap, how's that gonna work if no one can have that much on them at one time? If it's just a matter of you don't know what to do with yourself after your sales have netted you the gil cap, then I'd call the game won and move on >_>

They should be raising the cap. Banks dont have a cap, why should we. Do you have any idea how much of an inconvience this will create.

This is how I understand it as well and makes sense with what Reinheart posted above.

If you have 300 mil, it becomes 30 mil.
If you have 90 mil, it become 9 mil.

Person 1 still has the same % more then person b.

Everyone that thinks they just lop you off to 99 mil if your over 100 mil is dreaming. (think about it, how is that remotely fair lol)

That's stupid. So my 500k gil now will become 50k gil in 2.0.....don't think so? They are removing the cap from 999,999,999 to 99,999,999... if you have 25million gil come 2.0 you are still gonna have you 25milllion gil... this only affects the super rich who are above the 99,999,999 limit they will lose money if they don't move it to another character.

Inconvenience to who? What's the point in hoarding over 100m gil anyway? If anything, the new cap will encourage the uber rich to actually circulate their money, while making the game more accessible to new players.

In the end SE is really more concerned with the new player base of 2.0 than us transfers who would most likely stick with the game regardless.

The rich dont stay rich by spending money. Why should I spend a gil when I can make everything, and +1 it for a fraction of the cost. Also spending huge amounts hurts other players because it causes the rate of inflation to increase. So really rich people horde because they care.

Why because it's fair? it effects everyone the same...

In your world you keep all you have earned but those that have over 100 mil and earned it cant keep it? yeah you make much more sense.......

In the translation it doesn't say reduce cap by 1 digit, it says reduce gil by 1 digit

For the day when you need to buy/craft a 35mil bow (soon to be 3.5 mil bow) so you don't get left behind on relic, and yet still have lunch money.

Which is honestly too bad so sad, they'll still have maxed gil when it gets chopped down.
Except your retainers and other characters also have their own banks. So people who didn't think to split all their money across their retainers and other characters are punished.

yeah and then it goes on to say 999,999,999 will now be 99,999,999 and says nothing about everyone losing a percentage.
