Just like all the people that botted all their crafts to 50 got away with that (And I know at least 20 people on my server who openly admit it, have been reported to the GM for it, and still have their char. I even have screenshots of some discussing which bot is better and how to use them)

Why would anyone want to play a game that essentially turns into a competition for gear when the majority of the player base is openly exploiting/cheating, and where people make a day free every patch so they can make sure they get to exploit whatever screwup there is before its fixed.
ok wish they did allow us to use bots b4 nov1 to get our crafts up in levels but that wont happen " i dont cheat never have never will" others botting never botherd me ppl exploiting never bothered me you want to know what bothers me is the rmt ppl that cause excessive lag in some area's rmt that made se take away our gubu mounts and what relly irrataes me is that rmt is now abuseing the gc system they are getting choco's now i was crafting in the gc hall and i saw a group of they there and as for the elite's well they are not the imperial event proved it one had full darklight gear and a mog blade i had gc officers weapon and pld af which they say is crap i keept saving his arse cuz it was almost dead gear doesent matter its about skill and how you play in gw2 they made it the same way its about skill not they pretty armor

at 18:00 you did bluefog for 3k + 4 chances at crystals, warped to home town and turned it in, warped to glory or everlakes for another 3k and 4 chances at crystals.

Then you repeated it at 0:00

So you were making about 15 - 25k per 18+0:00 pretty easy

I have worked tirelessly NOT botting or exploiting anything...just doing caravans and traveling the world to get seals.

Now this foundation day event has saddened me...why all that work if now things are just handed to you randomly. Where's the sense of accomplishment? What is there to show off when things you worked so hard for suddenly become common place because what you spent months to gain is now suddenly obtainly in mere hours.

I thought the lessened over-aspected cluster was to nerf seal potential...now Literally just minutes ago killed Atomos he gave me 21 Over-aspect Crystals that's 5000 seals.

The Dawn Drops issue is easily fixed really. It'll make it a pain for those that want to vendor it. Allow only 99 in inventory...instead of stacks and stacks of same item. Ain't many people gonna port back and forth to dump 99 at a time. If they gonna play that game they gonna do it with lots of inventory space. By the way this isn't an exploit...

It's more learning and using the marketplace to your advantage. Well now that I've maxxed out literally gotten every item from my 500,000 seals what am I gonna do with my seals? Might as well convert them...

SE should just allow for a seal to give swap with gil not being able to swap to seals but seals can go to gil.

Ppl will always abuse what you give them, its human nature. So far the best way to combat this is like you do when setting up a server. You set up the server and allow users to join the domain. You give them absolutely no privileges, you than find out what they need in order to do there job and than give them that, but nothing else. Right now FFXIV is set up like a open server architecture. You let a user join the domain and open everything up to them. And what they don't use, you assume they dont use it because they don't need it so you close that off.

In reality when you let someone join and you say they can use anything, do you really think there just going to use what they need? ppl are always going to abuse things if they have the choice to do so.

The problem this moment is that the only thing going for the game as far as content and accomplishment are the achievements. When you cheapen the achievements like giving away so many seals there is no sense of accomplishment...so the reality is if you give me more content that makes me feel accomplished...I'm not gonna care what you give others...People want to be unique in an MMO they want to stand out...

Right this moment it seems...they allow it so everyone has everything for next to nothing...you might as well start everyone with everything right off the bat then if everything is so easy to obtain and there is no uniqueness abound...which = why bother doing anything at all.

The current model demands constant intervention of LOADS OF CONTENT or else the player base will disappear. If it's a bit harder to obtain things and requires more effort then people will stick around to try to accomplish them.

Holy shitballs! There's these things called 'periods' that help the rest of us differentiate the ending of one idea and the start of another. What the heck are you even talking about anyway? lol. Musta been drunk or something...

    periods are for the weak.
i got what he was saying lol

and i disagree with him. There is so little skill involved in this game. Everything is timing, not skill or planning. And half the problems arise from server lag. FFXI was skill, jobs had to actually do complicated things in a fight and often had to quickly switch up their role. This game is so static and simple though. Tank tanks, blms cast spells, brds shoot arrows and buffs. There is nothing overly difficult. Everything comes down to gear. If i equip a better bow and gear than another bard i will do more damage.

Maybe gaming is devolving though and to most people this game is tough...

Which you can still do, but its SO TEDIOUSLY SLOW, that I don't know how it was ever considered an exploit... Have you tried to turn in 3k of seals for dawn drops and then sell the drops? It takes for-effing-EVER.

The genuine simple solution is (since they are already craftable) don't sell Dawn Drops from grand company vendors. Remove them from the shop. All problems solved immediately.

I'm really annoyed by this if only because people are swamping in the gil that I have spent days earning. It makes all this leveling of crafts and gatherers I've done over months look pretty stupid. =/ All these people are getting an absolutely massive advantage. Will I take advantage of the same system? Maybe, but I need to get my last quests done so I can get my final rank, and I really want a Lt. Axe, and I really want the L50 crafting gear, so yeah. It's a shame that it's been allowed to continue to happen. I'd have rathered they made seals continue to be easy to get like they were in the first place, which was clearly the intention. But the gil, I don't think that was the intention at all, and it's something I consider pretty offputting when it comes to the game's economy. This whole escapade wouldn't be bad at all if it weren't for the fact that crafters are still undercutting each other by stupid amounts (RMT? I don't know, just the mind boggles when people with stupid Aaaaaaaaaaa retainer names sell things for 40k when the previous lowest price was 100k). This means despite there being a huge amount of gil, crafters still can't get a hold of it unless they just submit to the same system people are using now - Dawn Drops, the new game that has taken over the economy of Final Fantasy XIV.
