Data Centers? (Yes or No Poll)

Greetings,

I know there has been some confusion about multiple data centers and world discussion that took place in the 25th Anniversary event, so Yoshida addressed it directly in the Letter from the Producer LIVE part III.



Hopefully this will clear up any questions you may have.

I would like to cast a vote here, to see where we stand on these "Data Centers" and weather or not its a good idea to have them. Because, the way I read this Official post from Bayohne, I'm seeing it as You pick Data center closest to you, but You can only play with people within that Data Center.

So my question to all of you here ( and to see where we all favor for):

- Only one data center in Japan that everyone goes into, No segregation, but may experiences alot of lag for users that are far away.

-Multiple Data Centers across the world, which a person can go to the closest data center, little to no lag at all, however There is a possibility of segregation.

Every other MMO can deal with non region locked data centers at various locations. Regional data centers is a huge win for 2.0 and all the XI trolls are trying to drag ARR back to the stone age.

You complain about data centers segregating the community -- and yet all XI ever did was segregate the community based on content, level caps, what job you were, what sub job you did not have, time of updates, etc. The list continues endlessly because XI was poorly planned -- including the server infrastructure of XI.

This is FANTASTIC news about data centers.

This. FFXIV is supposed to be a 2010.. err 2013 game. And regional servers, data center or wheaver you want to call them,
is one of the most important standard in the game, more than interface, jump etc. imho.

Lol Isn't it too late? They've already purchased the new equipment and have gone through the plans of having them distributed with personnel to manage them and all that jazz. I don't think voting will make them scrap it all, just like that.

People like to whine like this about other peoples posts.. but you dont have to respond to them, you dont have to read them.. your more then welcome to ignore them. If Elexia wants to compare everything to XI... why not? if you dont like it.. ignore it. OPTIONS! IMAGINE What yOU could do with THEM!!!!!!
