Data Centers? (Yes or No Poll)

Well this blows, will I be able to move to different data centers with ease?

I have friends from all corners of the world I can't just "Pick" a side to play on.

When I transfer items to my retainer I have to count to 4 between each transaction. WTF!

Yeah.. that's the only "downfall" but if this comes to pass.. everyone will just have to pick a side and get use to it.. but its hard to tell right now. Won't know for certain till we start playing Alpha/beta.

Eh, Hopefully I can find a middle ground with all of my friends and all pick a server that meets us in the middle. It's the only choice we have it seems and then many of my friends will be forced to either.

1. Play on the server his friends are on (But outside his regular playtime) Therefore if he ever plays when we aren't on it might as well be playing on a ghost server.

2. Screw his friends and play on the server that is populated during his primetime.

Lol Isn't it too late? They've already purchased the new equipment and have gone through the plans of having them distributed with personnel to manage them and all that jazz. I don't think voting will make them scrap it all, just like that.

i voted no but I'm not entirely against data center's per say. I don't like the fact that they're segregating the players but if it helps with the latency then it is better in the long run. On the down side though is there are quite a lot of ls's now that will have to decide if they're going to remain on servers they're on or go to different ones and see if their members are willing to make that change. It's all really topsy turvy with it and if only it could just be a relay center instead of separate/segregated servers.... *shrugs* so I don't know honestly. Honestly one thing I do know is that no matter what unless you have one damn good connection you'll still experience lag no matter where you are and even with a damn good connection. It's all dependent on what your computer can handle and what connection you have and the hours you play and what not

Every other MMO can deal with non region locked data centers at various locations. Regional data centers is a huge win for 2.0 and all the XI trolls are trying to drag ARR back to the stone age.

You complain about data centers segregating the community -- and yet all XI ever did was segregate the community based on content, level caps, what job you were, what sub job you did not have, time of updates, etc. The list continues endlessly because XI was poorly planned -- including the server infrastructure of XI.

This is FANTASTIC news about data centers.

PS: Why are we complaining about data centers instead of speculating about important things like whether Musketeers will dual wield double-barreled guns?

Funny because you both did the same thing, i didin't say replying wasnt an option.. i was pointing out that telling somone not to mention something is stupid. All of you forum crawlers ever do is rag on people like elexia and rokien.. if you dont like their posts.. your probably better off not repsonding.. ignoring them.. and perhaps they will go away??? better yet.. why bother yourself by participating in a conversation with someone you dislike and who's opinion means little to nothing to you anyway?
