				Wth, what i hope for is REGIONAL SERVERS that iis a mirror of the REALM/WORLD, so that we get connected to closest Datacenter, but still in same international servers, but the REP is saying different thing! WTH do i see two side arguing, when the 3rd side is asking for something completely different!
What majority would want is REGIONAL SERVERS + SAME REALM + NO REGION LOCK,
What was propose REGIONAL SERVERS + DIFFERENT REALM + NO REGION LOCK, get it?
What we hope for
example;
BALMUNG server mirrors = NA Regional server + EU Regional server + JPN Regional server
SARGATANAS server mirrors = NA Regional server + EU Regional server + JPN Regional server
MASAMUNE server mirrors = NA Regional server + EU Regional server + JPN Regional server
but what was propose
Example;
Balmung EU
Sargatanas = NA
Masamune =, JPN
So you're hoping for something that doesn't exist. Got it.Wth, what i hope for is REGIONAL SERVERS that iis a mirror of the REALM/WORLD, so that we get connected to closest Datacenter, but still in same international servers, but the REP is saying different thing! You can't have your cake and eat it too...

This is how I feel when I read posts on these boards:
Having player data replicated across 3 separate servers clusters, and having all 3 of those be viable entry points for connections (3 perfectly in sync r/w locations) presents such a ridiculous programming challenge that I don't know of any examples of it in the world.
EDIT: Maybe not in non-gaming software...

				I do not liek the idea of regional (NA, EU, ASIA, COeanic) servers, perhaps language based (english speaking, Dutch, JApaneese/Asia) but We have people from EU that are english and french speakers, and NA ENglish/Spanish speakers that play together and don't want to split up). Proper data serves can limit lag and let us stay together. How FF online is meant to be.
May want to check into CLoud data serving, and Fast C centers, it is already used.

				170 yes vs 83 no atm.
I guess, we have a winner, even without considering that the new incoming players
will ofcourse chose regional too.
Yes... come on lol
Do we really have to talk about this? Do you guys want 2.0 to bring player and money to SE or not?
2012, regional server are a MUST. How do you guys hope to play the new gameplay whit 350+ ms? Bah.... madness...

				In FFXI having 100-300ms was ok due to the fact the game is very slow there was not really you have to run away from and the mobs take forever to cast a spell if you do have to run. In FFXIV like ifrit his warning does not help because he does it 1sec later in ffxi we had what? 10-15+sec to run? so ya i have to agree 50-80ms vs 200-300ms it's a easy to pick from.
FFXIV is faster then FFXI so less lag the better.

This is a no vote. I dont want to learn all the languages that EU has to be able to understand minimal what alot of ppl say. I been playing in Aion EU servers and its ridiculous how ppl dont know english enough at all to entirely describe what we want them to do in certain events. There will be language linkshells and we'll be too limited linkshell~wise. So NO regional servers is my vote.
Um... I don't think you understand what regional servers means for FFXIV.This is a no vote. I dont want to learn all the languages that EU has to be able to understand minimal what alot of ppl say. You can play on any server you want. There is no "lock" based on region. If you don't like EU servers in other games becaues people don't speak english, then just join an NA server. Everyone will speak english, and you'll still get a better ping than on the japanese servers.
Still voting no? Regional servers will actually help the situation in Aion that you were complaining about. The difference here is that Aion doesn't let you choose to play in another region's servers, whereas for ffxiv, you can choose to play on any server, regardless of the region. This is only about physical server location, not allowed/not allowed to play across regions.
