Man rude people on the forums these days. I don't give a **** about the medals, they don't mean a dang thing. I was after those who wanted data centers, and who didn't, that way I can see if majority was in favor or not. SE will see this obviously, and they could take action if they really wanted too.. if there was a lot against it. However, as it stands it seems like everyone wants Data centers to stay.
Which is a good thing "personally" so I can be able to get smooth connection between me and server ^.^.

They're giving us the best option; there is nothing better. They are limited to how fast data can travel between two points and how many places it has to connect through to accomplish that. The best way to reduce the time it takes to get from point A to point B is by reducing the distance between the two points, plain and simple. This is why regional servers make complete sense.
The option isn't forced, it's there if people want to have lower latency, which some highly value.
The IEEE 802.3 standard is aimed at data transfer rates in a LAN environment and will do nothing to improve latency with communications with other countries.
This doesn't mean what you think it does. The IEEE 802.3 standards refer to local area networks. It's not about intercontinental data travel, submarine communication cables, ISP standards, etc.
Depending on what data center SE uses, communications are either routed directly to the Western US across the Pacific, or they're routed through Europe and across the Atlantic. No amount of regulations or technology is going to make that data travel at speeds comparable to having the data center be 1/4th or 1/3rd of the distance away from you.
I am guessing the US datacenter will be in CA because that's where SEs US offices are located.
If you want to play on JP servers so badly simply pick one of those. Some of us actually care about latency and would like to see it gone forever.
You can always play with your "friends" with the content finder anyway and there are plenty of ways to keep in touch outside the game itself.
Not trying to be rude, but most "polls" on this forum are really "like" solicitations. Tehre's no denying that people gain from it.Man rude people on the forums these days.
Which is why i'm pushing for *real* polls to be turned on. This forum runs Vbulletin- there's no reason they can't just turn it on.
Well this blows, will I be able to move to different data centers with ease?
I have friends from all corners of the world I can't just "Pick" a side to play on.
