I know but what i mean is the primals seem in competition with each other or at war. It could make sense for one to help you, but not for many of them. So if summoner were to summon primals, they would be limited to only one summon.

Again, that doesn't have to be true.

Maybe it could be possible to add the classic ones in the story without messing up the story line. If Ifrit for example governs over the lizzy beastmen, why not make a pact with him, a contract, so he would work for you too.

    But currently it is.

Although you guys are operating under the assumption that the devs didn't plan this out. It's quite possible they've been intending to add a caller class at some point with the lore as already established.

Thinking more on this, I do like the idea of summons/primals taking form as in older FFs, not XI's "Always Out" Method. Big MP cost, big damage. Add a timer for recharge, give them smaller summons or skills they can use to supplement their main Primals. Having to fight them before earning them (bigger primals only), should also be included.

Having non elemental Summons with unique skills (Oh how I overused Sylph and Asura in FFIV.) would be a welcome addition. Not all summons need be offensive either. There could be an Absorb primal capable of laying on 3+ debuffs at once.

All I'm saying is, we don't know where they are going with the story line. They may have no other choice but to help us in the future. The Garlean Empire is pretty powerful.

But "currently" means jack-shizzle. The game is being changed and things will be added in every single aspect. If the game populace wants summoner added in a traditional fashion it can and will be added in. Aside from that its clear even with our mundane ideas they could be added and the story could be modulated.

Yea, there definatly seems to be a power struggle between the primals no doubt about that. given the current vibe a character would be locked down to one divinity. But lets throw some good old speculation and what if into it.

What if Ifrit, Shiva ,Garuda ,Titan, and Leviathan were akin to dynasty leaders each with subservient Lesser primals. Primals that you could gain access to by throwing in with one particular camp? Spoiler issues aside it sounds like the Primals are at war with each other. and are intent on bringing that war to eorzea via influencing its inhabitants. what happens during war? alliances are made, groups band together to fight a common enemy. The reason i bring this up is because of the opening movie. it was not just five streaks that shot out from that ball of light it was a very very large number.

So yes given this context it would be a definite path choice, you would gain powers and abilities by Pledging your self to a faction of the Primal war. While you would have options to choose from with in the camps. you would be limited to what that camp offers. but i am just rambling here. lol
