Agreed, with FF13, Just ment HOW they fought in combat, the transforming was stupid =.=

Now to many posts to reply on, but what I essentially mean ARE the primal summons, the main ones that were the epitome of their element. Those would more than likely not be usable due to the storyline quests, now other ones someone mentioned that were summons, but more towards minor ones that really had no representation would still be usable. The primal spirits loathe us in this game it seems, but that does not mean other classic summons would.

If we could summon primal summons then the game would lose all meaning to me, however if the storyline was changed(which I do not want it to be) or if we get minor summons, then it would fit with the lore of the game.

As far as lore goes, we don't really know all that much about Ifrit/Garuda etc. other than they are powerful beings and the beastmen worship them. Who's to say they can't bestow on us a little of their power?
We do know from the storyline missions they do not like us, now if the storyline DEVELOPS in such a way where summons would work with our character, only then can I see the summoning of primals. Like if summoner was added and we did a quest for it or a storyline quest where we agree to do something for a little of lets say their power for a short time. That would make sense so they would not have to change the lore in a drastic way. Unless the storyline changes/develops in such a fashion, it would just make this game less appealing for a lack of consistency in the lore/gameplay.
