The rank 38 quest kind of imply that a lot of primals won't agree to help you no matter what.Well the game will not be staying in it's current state. They are changing a lot so from a battle stand point so we don't know if it'll work out or not in the future.
As far as lore goes, we don't really know all that much about Ifrit/Garuda etc. other than they are powerful beings and the beastmen worship them. Who's to say they can't bestow on us a little of their power?
I know but what i mean is the primals seem in competition with each other or at war. It could make sense for one to help you, but not for many of them. So if summoner were to summon primals, they would be limited to only one summon.
But "currently" means jack-shizzle. The game is being changed and things will be added in every single aspect. If the game populace wants summoner added in a traditional fashion it can and will be added in. Aside from that its clear even with our mundane ideas they could be added and the story could be modulated.
Yea, there definatly seems to be a power struggle between the primals no doubt about that. given the current vibe a character would be locked down to one divinity. But lets throw some good old speculation and what if into it.
What if Ifrit, Shiva ,Garuda ,Titan, and Leviathan were akin to dynasty leaders each with subservient Lesser primals. Primals that you could gain access to by throwing in with one particular camp? Spoiler issues aside it sounds like the Primals are at war with each other. and are intent on bringing that war to eorzea via influencing its inhabitants. what happens during war? alliances are made, groups band together to fight a common enemy. The reason i bring this up is because of the opening movie. it was not just five streaks that shot out from that ball of light it was a very very large number.
So yes given this context it would be a definite path choice, you would gain powers and abilities by Pledging your self to a faction of the Primal war. While you would have options to choose from with in the camps. you would be limited to what that camp offers. but i am just rambling here. lol
