Data Centers/World Locations Info from the LIVE Letter

Japan is where they would likely be located, as they were for ff11, and ff14, its about new players, that is it, if a new player sees the options:

JP

EU
EU
If they are NA, they will go to NA, JP will go to JP, EU will go to EU, it will happen.

If a ls that exist now goes to a JP server thats NA/EU (like mine), if will die over time, it just will, there will be little to no new NA/EU people, the same goes vise versa for any of the 3. The current population is to small to expect it to last any decent amount of time unless you never lose a single member for any reason, ever.

All people have been asking for, stated throughout this thread many times, is for World servers, located in Japan, we dont care where its at, at all, if its listed as "Global" or something, people will know they can expect people from all 3 time zones.

If you do not lable it global, people will not mix, people will not expect people of their own language to be there at all. A JP server will be 95%+ JP, NA and EU will be the same situation, very small prime times will happen.

Edit: Whether they call it "Region Locked" or not, it has the exact same effect, the only extra freedom it provides is letting you pick your prime time server based on your schedual.

Just because they are not named global doesn't mean they are not global. Anyone from all over the world can join any server, all servers now except Ragnarok(?) are japanese which already makes them regional. You people just seem to want S-E to hide where the servers are located and name them global so that players dont join server based on their region and that's just deceiving.

But I have different schedules, I want to join a server that will have population throughout the day.

Have you ever played on the XIV EU server? It's dead at night.

Also I like to play with people throughout the world, and would enjoy playing with like minded people.

Global servers are necessary. I can't even overstate the importance.

and people dont understand that Global isnt in some way different from NA, even though the listing is there, they... just never mind.
Its not deceiving, it informs people that there will be people from around the world on those servers with more prime times.

Naming server Global will not change the fact that it is still located in Japan or wherever it is. Sure, they can name them Global, International or whatever you want for people to think "oh here everyone plays together, I'm gonna play here" and fine, no problem there but all the others servers are not any less global than these "Global" servers just because they're saying where the server is located.

Now if segregating the players by giving us servers located in our regions is what have to be done to fix that, I'm sorry that it sucks for you but I bought this MMO to play with people during most of my gaming hours, not wait until they get on when I have to leave.

And if your primetime is japanese or NA time you can still pick any of those servers to play on.

I'm not seeing what this anecdote has to do with making global servers as an option to those of us who enjoy playing with people from Japan or other countries.

So your basically incredibly racist. FF is even a Japanese game ffs. I dont speak/read a single word of japanese but I manage to get into JP groups on a daily basis for 17/25min AV/CC's and garuda's simply by using google translate when im bored, a simple copy and paste takes like 5sec. I also thing the majority of your problem is the fact that the game has a very very low population.

The part that I find funny if im understanding you correctly, if your normal play time is in JP time, going to a regional server will not help you unless its a JP regional server, going to a NA or EU server when you have a JP play time, you will not fit into the prime time and you will have less people to play with.
