Ive got a pretty Good feeling the Few 100 JP players that onry want JP will stay in JP, and those that want to have more players and Diverse options will probably load up on the US west coast server just a theory.
This is where these test dummies come in handy, I explore see Who speaks English and who doesn't =), then once I find that server I will then make my New Character ( probably take me 2 hours~ MALE CAT!) and my Main Character on that server.
Did JP Community say they were thinking about that? That would be a first if they were to want to come to NA. Personally, I think everything will work out in the end.
I have never been kicked from a JP party despite having very little knowledge of Japanese in the first place. Not all JP parties are the xenophobes this community makes them out to be. I've gotten into JP hamlet parties where they would even make an attempt at telling me their looting rules in English.
So no, it isn't "Most JPs".
And it's not even just about the JPs. I have friends in EU, and me joining their server would inconvenience me, while them joining an NA server would inconvenience them because of time zones. Why do we all have to take that fall?
Well, Aren't you the popular one? HAI!I have never been kicked from a JP party despite having very little knowledge of Japanese in the first place. Hehe, thanks buddy.Hey Scratch buddy, You have awesome posts when you speak =), but can you give me a description on how you come to this conclusion? because how I'm reading it is, In order to play with people Overseas you have to go to a Data Center that's not in your Country. I am a bit confused.
What I meant was that, quite literally, every server is a "global server", in the sense that anybody on the planet will be able to make a character on any server. Just like how the current servers are "global servers"; the only difference is the physical location of the new servers. There won't be any servers that only accept players from a specific region.
I hope that's a little clearer..?
Balmung and Massassamoonyunay will remain JP servers (in terms of location), just as they are now. The new NA and EU servers will have new, different names.Names will stay the same.. but Balmung could be labeled as a NA Server and Masamune could be named a EU Server and so forth so, if that's the case you will need to base decisions on if you want a JP Server or not. ( There is no Evidence of this mind you, but if that's indeed the case, its good to be prepared)
I do remember reading an interview in which Yoshida-san said the current servers (Ridill, Massassamoonyunay, Excalibur, etc) aren't going anywhere, physically, but I can't find it at the moment, so, until I can, we'll just have to settle for logic and inferring things from their (sometimes not-so-) carefully chosen words.
Additionally, the sensible thing to do would be just keep the current servers as is, in Japan, so that if that's what current players like, they're not forced into a change they don't want. Keeping as close to the status quo as possible, as it were.
For example, if I want to continue playing on my current JP server, I might be really pissed if it was "moved" to, say, Europe, without my consent.
Certain changes need to be made for the sake of the game's (hopeful) success, regardless of current players' desires, but they're not wholly inconsiderate or dismissive of said desires either. Not fucking about with the servers (e.g., moving Balmung and saying "GUIZ, YUR NAO A NA SURVER!! HAHA ENJOI!!") is one of the easiest ways of doing or showing that consideration.
My 2 gil, at least *shrug*
Because it's essentially the same when the mass majority are going to play on servers close to themselves. I'm not going to go on a japanese server because there'll be only japanese people. I want a mix. If there were global servers it'd be different. If you can't understand that then I don't know what to tell you.
This is a massive disappointment. The internet is incredible in that you can communicate in unique ways and experience things with people regardless of where they're located. It's a wonderful thing for an MMO to be able to offer - and we've all enjoyed it for a decade in XI, and for two years in XIV. That precedence makes this more painful than if this decision was made at the outset.
SE should be encouraging people from different countries to play together - not this.. The main issue with the latency for 1.0 has nothing to do with how far people are from their servers, and ARR was supposed to fix this.
Even dealing with the disgusting latency of the current version, they were able to give us a fight like Nael (Hard) where the effect is minimized compared to say, Ifrit. I don't mean to be harsh, but how many people celebrating this news have even cleared that fight? If response time is of supreme importance to you, I assume the reason is to clear content well or clear content as soon as possible. Well, Nael has been out there for the taking - why haven't you beaten it?
Bottom line is that SE has decided to split us up for what amounts to an insignificant reason. I hope they fully realize what this will do to their community..
Alright! lets see if I get this straight nowHehe, thanks buddy.

- Every Server is a Global Server
- Physical Location of said Server(s) is in other locations a crossed the world.
- Those Physical Locations of those servers is "Global" and will act that way just as it would be if it were in Japan
- Conclusion No matter what server you go on everyone is united?
This is all based on what I read from you, correct me if I'm wrong anywhere Scratches ^.^.
(PS: I would love to play with ya on ARR if there is a way that we could) =)
