I'm looking forward to datacenters. If I end up segregated from a few people I used to know, I'll make a few new friends I'm sure to fill the void. It isn't the end of the world, there will always be more friends to be made, AND I get to have less lag. This is a winning scenario for people who don't freak out over nothing.
No leeching, No PL'ing, just 100% playing the game.
Since you clearly don't value friendship as much as other people do, it's understandable why you use the term "freak out", when it's perfectly reasonable to be upset people will be separated from friends they care about.I'm looking forward to datacenters. They did fix their servers, 2.0 servers will be way better than current ones, and responsiveness as shown in the live show are also way better due to more client-side interaction. The probelms were 2, not 3. I'll just ignore you quoting the definition of a word out of an online dictionary like you had that on the top of your head...They can't do it and this is the next best solution.
com·pro·mise [kom-pruh-mahyz] noun, verb, com·pro·mised, com·pro·mis·ing.
1. a settlement of differences by mutual concessions; an agreement reached by adjustment of conflicting or opposing claims, principles, etc., by reciprocal modification of demands.
2. the result of such a settlement.

But there's nothing wrong with having friends only from one region.
When I joined WoW I chose a PST server in hopes that I'd find the most people playing in my time-frame and maybe even find some people who were semi-local (and I've done both quite readily). Are there people from other timezones? Sure, of course.. but I didn't join the server to run raids at 3pm while I'm at work because it's 7pm on the East Coast for others, I joined to get the best chance to find people in my timeframe.
In the case of FFXIV , it's both time-frame and countries and language.. and once people start talking about countries and language, people start throwing around the term "racist" like children who think they know what they're talking about.
Wanting to be with people who are in a similar region as you, even if it means you have less contact with people outside of that region, is not a bad thing. People need to get over it.
If you have friends that you consider "close" outside of your region then why don't you extend that friendship over other social media and enjoy portions of real life with them, rather than just a game. In the long run, you're going to make new friends and be just as bloody happy if you allow yourself to be happy (which many people seem unwilling to do) on a server that is based on the datacenter closest to you.
If people would stop whining about it, they'd see there's nothing wrong with the way this is going down.

There is nothing wrong with it, but what if I want to befriend people from multiple regions? Much like when I head back to Japan I make friends, when I go to France I make friends, when I go to India I make friends and so on. It's not a relationship where you're allowed to be with only one person (unless you're a slut), some people just simply make friends with anyone regardless of nationality lol.
People need to get over the fact some are honestly upset they may and most likely will be separated from friends they made who play from Japan or Germany for example, yet you're essentially saying they're wrong for that.Wanting to be with people who are in a similar region as you, even if it means you have less contact with people outside of that region, is not a bad thing. People need to get over it.
Don't mind this at all. I'm sorry but I'll take lag-free play over playing on servers abroad any time.

This is how I feel when I read posts on these boards:
Greetings,
I know there has been some confusion about multiple data centers and world discussion that took place in the 25th Anniversary event, so Yoshida addressed it directly in the Letter from the Producer LIVE part III.
Hopefully this will clear up any questions you may have.![]()

This isnt wow, its FF, FF 11 and 14 have been world servers with ls's that are from all time zones for 12yrs+, your opinion is invalid.
They should have just named the game something else instead of smacking the FF logo on it for the extra subs and in the process screwing over ff11.
