To: Yoshida-san, Bayohne and the FF XIV Dev Team,
By officially designating various Servers as "U.S." or "EU" or "Japan", even if you're only talking about the Data and not Language,
You WILL be indirectly causing Segregation of the Final Fantasy Community!
One of the greatest appeals of Final Fantasy XIV (and in XI) is the diverse, multicultural player base.
Playing with players around the world! I've met wonderful players from around the world, from Japan, Australia, Europe and North and South America.
It's one of the things that makes Final Fantasy XIV (and XI) *unique* from all the other MMOs out there.
As limited as your Auto-Translator is, people were still able to communicate, and you had players ONLINE at all times of the day and night (because of the World Servers).
By officially listing Servers in 2.0 as being "North America" or "Europe" or "Japan" etc., you're basically going to cause SEGREGATION.
Of course we can just choose a server in another region to try and retain some international feel, but there will be a good portion of the player base that will choose Lag Free over Community.
So you'll end up with Servers with High Activity during "Prime Time" hours in their region only, and it'll be DEAD at all other times of the day.
So for anyone wanting to play during odd hours (mornings, late at night, etc.), with your Regional Servers, you're indirectly highlighting how EMPTY a server can be as well.
It's fantastic to have Global Servers (No Designation of Country) to have activity at all times of the day and have a diverse player base on the Server.
I hope Yoshida-san reconsiders the Designation / Setup for this.
This is very disappointing news if you let it continue this way into 2.0.
